I’m pretty sure it’s synthetic but I was wondering if anyone knew the marking on the bottom of it. 0B0847DF-1771-45B4-B345-F29E6AC233F9.jpeg

Linde stars have an "L." I could not find an image. This looks like a mirror-image double-L.

Just like how all Kashmir sapphires have the tell-tale "K" :cool2:
 
I was thinking it was a W or an M.

It was my grandfather wedding ring, worn daily for 50 years while he restored dozens of cars. He never took it off for anything.

I can see that it was well loved!
If you don't want to replace the stone for sentimental reasons, you can still have the gold polished up. It will look great!
