As I lover of antique style diamond rings, I am torn between two designers! I can''t decide whether a Tacori hand engraved ring or a Beverly K ring would be the best e-ring for me.

I haven''t seen the Beverly K ring in person yet. I''ve seen the ring only on Pearlman''s Jewelers'' site. I am familiar with Tacori''s style, but having never seen Beverly K up close, I am wondering what the major differences between the two would be. One thing I''ve noticed from photos is that Beverly K rings seem to be a little more petite. (I wear a size 4, so that might be a plus in the Beverly K column.)

Has anyone here owned both or tried on both? What were your observations?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

P.S. I love this site!

I wear a size 4, I just received my first Bev K halo ring. It is beautiful, but the shank on mine is a bit thin- like wire thin (a bit of a surprise) also my ring is in yellow gold, and its a bit lighter weight then I kind of imagine

however, as for pricing I think its in a different league than Tacori (I have not seen tacori in person though) what style are you thinking of?

Oh, you absolutely have to look at both in person and on your hand. Tacori makes gorgeous rings but when I tried a few styles on, they looked really out of place on my hand. Too detailed for the shape of my hand (4.75). I found simple streamline looks to best suited for me.

IMO, it''s not a good idea to entirely base your choice by what you see online.

ditto MC here,

If there is a Bevk design you like, maybe Bill at Pearlman''s have a sample for you... to see in person, otherwise try to find dealers that have those designers.

both are lovely. I think it would really depend on which designer has the exact ring you are wanting. D&T has a good suggestion to contact Bill and have them send you a ring of interest if you don''t have a Beverley K dealer near you.

My e-ring is a Tacori and I have a Bev K band. Assuming you don''t have a certain ring you love and because of the prices I probably would go with a Bev K. Their quality is just as good as Tacori''s. Hope that helps.

I love Beverly K!

I would personally go with BK because I think the prices for Tacori are a little high. Gorgeous rings, just more than I am comfortable spending on a setting.

Well today I tried on the Tacori ring I like. It''s pretty, but it really didn''t look right on my finger. An Art Carved ring caught my eye. Now I''m torn between Beverly K and Art Carved. What''s wrong with me?

I love Beverly K adn their prices are pretty reasonable for how well made they are. IMO.

Nothing is wrong with you. It''s hard to make a decision with all these choices. I am glad you had a chance to try it on in person - sometimes what we envision doesn''t actually look so great on us.

Nothing wrong with you. There are lots of gorgeous rings out there, no surpise you like more than one!

It''s called "Gossimer". It has a very vintage look to it - very pretty scrolled carving.

So true!

I''ve tried on both, and personally prefer Beverly K by a big margin. Tacori has lovely details, but their rings are heavier and chunkier, almost masculine. Beverly K rings are light and delicate and airy, very feminine.

I haven't seen Tacori pieces in person but I have seen BK stuff. BK's is very very good for mass produced modern jewelry, especially for the price, and I like the selection of styles their line offers. The engraving is quite well done- not absolutely premium quality, but very good... Tacori, from what I can judge, does engraving of a very similar high quality, too. I would call Greenlake Jewelers, Beaudry and Kelege's (and perhaps a few others) engraving super premium quality. The prices on the Beaudry and Kelege work is way higher than even Tacori's though. GLJ is expensive but not uber-brand-name pricey, just labor intensive pricey, yanno? BK, and also Tacori IMO, is just a bit below that level of work. Very nice, looks good up close too, but not the best of the best. I'd say both Tacori and BK pieces have way better engraving than most "antique style" rings out there.

I did find BK stuff to be beautifully delicate- I have small hands too, size 4.75, and I felt they looked lovely on- I can't remember which ones I tried on but I handled about... a half dozen? The jeweler who had BK's stuff had quite a bit, it was great to see a good representation of their line in person. Their craftsmanship is *great* for the price IMO. I'd choose BK over Tacori unless there was a Tacori design that really did it for me... (Actually, I'd probably tweak it a bit and have Greenlake do a similar version, because I adore their work and have seen a lot of GLJ's pieces up close.)

I didn't find BK's stuff to feel flimsy despite the delicacy. It felt well made, and as sturdy as such pieces can be.

OH NO! With all the positive comments and recommendations for Beverly K, I am starting to doubt my recent Tacori (2620) purchase. I need to stop reading the thread before I get too stressed.

Once my NeverEndingUpgrade had ended, LOL, I was in possession of a platinum Tacori wedding set (HT 2352) that I ADORE. I also own a Beverley K yellow and white diamond cross that I won on Ebay. Both are of exceptional quality. The Tacori set was more of a once-in-a-lifetime purchase, due to the price point. But if money were no object, I would have Tacori set every stone I own in platinum.

However, since money is an object, I am looking at some Beverley K settings in white gold for some of my loose stones. I can''t go wrong coz the quality is there and I love working with Julian at Pearlman''s.

Nothing is wrong with you. It is wise to put a lot of time into the process due to the money you are spending. That ArtCarved ring you posted is very pretty. I love this ArtCarved setting:

Oh no! Well don''t doubt your choice based on our opinions. :) Tacori makes incredibly gorgeous rings. BK and Tacori have different styles and it''s all a matter of personal preference about which you like better.

I know. I have a nasty habit of always second guessing decisions. Since I have never seen a BK in real-life, I have nothing to compare to so I should just stop stressing.
