Since in "real" life it''s sorta inappropriate to brag too much, this forum is a great place for gem/jewelry lovers like myself to see others'' beautiful jewels, and show mine in return. Here''s my engagement ring and newish wedding bands (I originally had a plain knife-edged band):

My husband and I took a few pictures under the dental microscope. They aren''t great, but they are interesting. I am amazed at the scratches (married seven years):

Ring is 1.06 carats, H, IF in 18 K with platinum prongs, and wedding bands are yellow and pink diamonds (18 K yellow and rose gold respectively).

Thanks for letting me show off!

I remember on another thread you called your eternity bands your "canaries" & "pinks" -- LOVE THAT TOO. Now I think every gal needs "canaries" & "pinks"!!!! Clearly - you are ahead of the rest of us!

beautiful...love those eternity bands too.

Those pictures are great! Do you ever split the rings up and sandwich your e-ring with them?

Thanks everyone, for your nice compliments!

Yikes, I meant the platinum and gold is so scratched when viewed up close. I sure hope the diamond isn''t scratched! I didn''t see anything like that under the microscope, so it''s probably OK.

No specs on the yellow and pink diamonds. The rings were purchased as you see them from a jeweler in a small town in Southern Illinois; my husband only knew I liked yellow diamonds and thought these rings were right up my alley (he was right). The stones only go round about 2/3 of the way and they are very small but very lively.

Yes, the engagement ring is from Tiffany. Their setting, particularly the way they do prongs and set the stone low, really appeals to me, and at the time, I could not find a ring in any local store that was set like that--other jewelers' settings were typically 4-pronged and usually set too high for me, and usually not delicately enough for my tastes.

I was quite shocked when my husband proposed and held out that beautiful Tiffany ring, because he had been saying he could not afford it, and that he was buying me a 1/8 carat ring maximum (he was still in dental school at the time). I kept saying it was OK, and I didn't care (I would not have, of course, but definitely was pleased in the end that he was pulling my leg!).

I have since learned that he always tells me he "can't afford it" and I am getting "x" instead, and then a whopper of a present is given.

small or not. natural pink diamonds are very rare.

I have tried that, and they don't really nestle very well when apart. When together, they seem to lie more flush. The e-ring is set so low, that really the only band that truly sits well is my original wedding band, also knife-edged, but....well, it doesn't sparkle.

I know I am a brat for feeling that way, and my husband and I went round and round about the diamond wedding band issue before we got married. I decided to not fight that battle too hard, especially since he exceeded my dreams with the engagement ring, and just work him later for some new diamonds. Seems to have worked!

I still have always wanted a white diamond wedding band. We'll see. Right now house payments and business payments have to take priority. Gosh I hate those real priorities in real life.

I believe it. I don''t know how much the rings were, but I do know the pink band was more expensive than the yellow one. The jeweler we purchased from is a friend of ours and she thought they were rather nice stones for small ones, and that the yellow were a good dark color. They are almost green-yellow. I had seen them in her shop, tried them on, and somehow my husband found out. Small town and all.
