The girlfriend and I have found the ring of our dreams. We got a rough sketch from the jeweler and I think they quoted us a pretty good price, $2500, considering the price of gold per ounce and the fact that this ring will be 8mm thick. To help you all visualize it here is the rough sketch that the jeweler gave us.

I asked the jeweler to pull some rings for me but everything they showed me seemed like it had a lot of inclusions and was very overpriced for what you got. For example, an 1.03 ct I SI1 excellent cut was $8500. I knew from experience that prices online were much better and that I could avoid sales tax by buying online. I began the search for 1.10 ct diamond and I am hoping you all can be of some assistance. Here is what I have found so far.

Right now I am leaning more towards the Brian Gavin diamond. It just seems to look the best but that is probably how they shoot it.

As always, I am open to new suggestions or advice on these rings. I would like to make the purchase within this next week or so.

Thank you good people of Pricescope.

Any BGD Signature/Blue or WF ACA is going to be stunning.

Can't see a picture of the 1.12 J.... just says that it is no longer available.

Either of the first two is going to look lovely. They are already cut towards performance.

The BGD is a little less expensive (being SI, I guess) and so you might call and have them pull it and talk to Brian to make sure it is eyeclean.

I also can't see the third one.

I have decided to contact Brain Gavin and ask them to quote me on a custom ring as well. I figured it might just be a good idea to get both the diamond and the ring from the same location. I'll update this post when my quote and sketch arrive and give you links to the diamonds they picked out for me.

So Denise from Brian Gavin responded to me with a price for the ring and a list of some diamonds. I asked her if she could get me a sketch of what the jeweler interpreted and if Brian Gavin could pull some diamonds and check if they are eye clean and get some reccomendations. Denise responded with a simple "we don't do sketches only CAD mock-ups after a payment is made and they are all eyeclean diamonds".

This seemed a little concerning to me. I plan on spending quite a bit of money, at least to me, on this ring and I am scared just to send a wire transfer and hope for the best. Is this a common occurrence with Brian Gavin? Should I be concerned?
