lknvrb4 - what did you do with your previous setting? I really do love the Swan. I''ll have to convince my hubby before I get my heart too set on it.

I still have it put away. I was debating on putting a colored stone in it but decided not to. I think if you have it in the back of your mind you want something else you should just get something else because you are the one that has to wear it.

That is SOME upgrade! It doesn''t seem that you are mourning the size issue. Personally, I think your ring is as picture perfect as it gets. It''s very, very close to my dream ring, so I wouldn''t change the setting.

However, I''m all about getting exactly what YOU want. If you are dreaming of the Vatche Swan, you need to go after it. You''ve already come all the way to a 2.5 carat. Just go a little furthur and get the setting of YOUR dreams. Compared to what has already been spent, the setting will barely make a dent. Go for it!

It''s gorgeous!!!!!!!!

I realize that I said I went from a .51 to a 2.51. I went from a .91 to a 2.51. Boy that''s a stupid typo. :-P Here''s the two together. Now I''m done lambasting you all with pics (well, for now - I''m kinda obsessed with taking pics now)

I really do think your setting is amazingly beautiful. But if you are wanting the Swan then you should go for it. Like others have said, with what you and your husband have put in just the stone along what small percentage of that would then go to the Swan setting you two would never now it price wise. The Swan is a gorgeous solitaire and if that''s what will make you happy with your engagement ring then go for it. But I''m so glad you decided to stick with the round it really is huge and gorgeous! LOL!

But if the Swan is what you want . . . go get it girl!

Stop looking at jewelry online and enjoy the beautiful ring on your finger.

I adore your diamond! That is what I aspire too! No chance I will see that size anytime soon. I say love it as it is. However, if a change of setting would take the edge of your pain, then do it! You deserve to look down at that beauty and melt every time!!!!

thank you so much for your replies. I went and tried on solitaires with my wedding band yesterday and while I was there I kept "noticing" all of the settings that looked just like mine. I guess I really am in love with it. I''ve decided to keep the setting. I think what was bothering me was that the setting doesn''t exactly match my band. Nobody else but us eagle eyes would notice, but it was bugging me. What I''m going to do is get a matching band on the other side so then at least they match each other. It won''t be for a while, but I think that''ll help me out. I am thrilled beyond belief with this ring. I love my hubby so much for letting me get it. As for these forums, I''ll keep stalking everyone and envying yours too but I''ll look down at mine and love it just as much!

That''s terrific. I know what your saying when it comes to the band not matching the engagement ring. My band I had for years and then I put a 2mm spacer band, I guess you would call it, between the two. But in hopes of getting a shared prong eternity band in the future. I think a matching band for the other side would tie everything in together for you and make a knock out set. Wear it in good health cause it is GORGEOUS!
