I bought a sapphire & diamond 1/2 eternity band from overstock. I thought it was pretty nice. When I received my 1/2 eternity band from WF w/ the ACA melee however, there was no comparison. I wear WF band always, and use the overstock band for fun and to have options. If it doesn''t break the bank, get the overstock band so you don''t go crazy while you''re waiting for your great quality one. I guess I can''t talk you out of it either, but there is definitely a difference in quality.

Lucky,
Thanks for sharing your experience! Can you pinpoint what specifically was different about the quality? I know the quality of the diamonds, but how about the manufacture of the setting? Just good info to know! I am with you, I like having different looks. In fact, I saw a sapphire thin plat eternity band at sp that is also tempting me for $400...
Have you posted pics of your pretty rings?
Gail

Hi Gail,
I was referring to the diamond quality, which I guess you already know about. The overstock diamonds have fire but it''s rather elusive compared to the WF ones which look so alive w/ fire and brilliance. Also, the overstock diamonds have a cloudy look to them which I wouldn''t have noticed unless I put them side by side with the WF. In terms of the setting, the overstock band was channel set. When you look at the inside of the ring, it is missing that inner layer of metal, so it looks kind of rough in there. Also, the metal feels really thin and minimalistic. Then again, I only paid $180 for it!
BTW, the overstock band is white gold, but I think it looks okay with my platinum band. I think most people can''t tell since you don''t see much metal w/ eternity bands.

Alas, I''ve never posted pics b/c I can''t seem to get good ones. Someday, when my kids stop interrupting me I''ll get some!

I think I know the sapphire bands you''re talking about. I was looking at them as well. I want two, one for each boy!

Lucky, thanks for the info!

So last night I show the hubby some pictures on signed pieces and on pricescope of the eternity bands that I like. HE REALLY DOESN''T LIKE THEM! He says he loves my plain band, and not just cuz we already have it - he says he really isn''t into the eternity band. I feel bad wanting a wedding band that he really doesn''t like! He especially doesn''t like the pave/shared prong which is my favorite ! If it was any old piece of jewelry I wouldn''t care as much but it is my wedding band, supposedly from him... So now I''m thinking of getting the cheapy just to satisfy my desire to have that look some of the time... I know I better move fast, they will probably sell out any minute!

Bummer when those hubbies have different ideas than we do! But - if that''s the case - I''d definitely go for the overstock version and enjoy it for what it is...
