I've been lurking here for years and it's nice to be finally posting something. I'm hunting for a tanzanite trillion around the 2-2.5ct mark. Prefer the colour to be on the lighter side and $800 is the limit. The stones on Swala and Lapi gems are to dark and expensive for me. It may not be the favoured place around here but Gemselect have a few trillions that fit the criteria. What do you think of the 2 stones below. If anyone has some other suggestions that would be fantastic

I have bought from AJS on numerous occasions. My experience of them is that their photography always makes the stones look brighter than they will be in real life (but I feel the same about many vendors so this is not just an AJS thing!):

http://www.ajsgem.com/gemstones/tanzanite/tanzanite-1.40-carats.html Much more saturated, smaller but the face up size isn't much different. Might be worth a look.

http://www.ajsgem.com/gemstones/tanzanite/tanzanite-1.19-carats.html-3 Pretty - even though it's small it faces up larger.

Here's a page of gems from Multicolour. Again, I've bought from them numerous times and in fact bought an 8ct heart cut Tanzanite from them. Their photos are almost realistic - what I like is that they don't try to hide faults (ie windows). From this list, the bottom one is the one I'd probably look at. It has some cutting issues but I think once set these wouldn't be too apparent:

Wow so many helpful replies.

Enerchi - I love looking at Andrew's stones. I have my eye on a pink tourmaline at the moment. I'm tossing up the idea of doing a three stone ring but I'm bit worried it's just going to be to soft. Might have to spend a bit more and go a spinel

Chrono thanks for the warning. I'll forget about the Gemselect stones. I don't want the drama of sending it back.

LD you gave me some wonderful stones to look at. I love the 1.40ct and the 1.88ct. And way under the amount I was budgeting for. The stone would be set into a diamond halo pendant. I really appreciate your help finding these stones

Thank you everybody
