Do any of you have a tattoo that you plan to conceal? I think I may have found THE dress, however I have a small tattoo on my shoulder that shows, and for once I don''t like the look. It distracts from how lovely the dress is. (I do have a tattoo on my wrist, but I still like it and won''t cover it... I can simply make sure my arm isn''t twisted in important photos.)

So I''m wondering how well tattoo concealer makeup works. Have any of you tried it? Does it smudge off on clothing?

Don''t have any info for you, Beltane, but I also have a small shoulder tattoo I''d like to cover... so am interested in hearing what people have to say.

Dermablend! Covers everything. I haven''t used it in years, but it worked really well covering up a scar.

Beltane: I have a very large tattoo that covers almost my whole upper back. I am not going to cover it with anything makeup wise, however, I am wearing a lace shrug for the ceremony which will conceal it for that part of the wedding. For the reception, I am just going to let it show because it is part of who I am! I love my tattoo because both myself and my fiance designed it together..it is a very large floral design with a poem that I wrote, so it is very much US! I have had many people ask me if I am planning on covering it (people like my grandparents lol)! Good luck with covering it!! Maybe the airbrush makeups would work??

*mini threadjack- cocolaw, I have a scar I want to cover and had never heard of dermablend! I''ve tried coverfx (another scar-covering foundation) and have had no luck. If you don''t mind sharing, what shade of Dermablend did you use? I''ll have to order it online and am not sure how true to other foundation colours they are*

If Kat endorses it, I''d say it''s worth a try

+1 I used to sell Dermablend. It''s intense, you can cover anything. It takes a couple layers of the body cover to make sure you fully conceal it, and make sure you get the setting powder with it as well.

Thank you ALL for your great ideas! Yesterday an esthetician friend of mine suggested a product called CoverFX. I think I am going to try the Dermablend, CoverFX and the Kat Von D from Sephora and see which one is best. I''ll definitely let everyone know. Moreso than covering the tat is: I don''t want a mucky mess all over my dress. I''d rather show the tat than have a mess on my dress for the entire day. So I''m going to do a few trial runs and see which one is the toughest.

I agree with the dermeblend recommendations- and make sure you powder to help it set. Also, Ben Nye (stage makeup company) makes an awesome one.

My makeup artist actually does airbrush makeup and will be using that on my tattoo,I''m wearing a lace bolero so you won''t see it anyway but I just wanted the option of taking the bolero off.

Ditto. She would know.

I actually saw the LA Ink episode where she applied it herself. She said she didn''t even recognize herself!
