My stuff is FINALLY ready. These are not my pictures, so don't complain to me that my jeweller has the lousiest light set up for photography. As you can see, there is practically no ambient lighting so he had to use flash. I haven't received the package yet but I cannot wait.
I'm going to start off with the pear green garnet. So it isn't a perfect fit, but I don't care. I bought a quality (hefty) platinum setting with ideal cut diamond melees at a great price and gosh darn it, I'm going to use it.
The problem lies not with the setting but the pear. It isn't well cut with the culet slightly off-centered, one side of the pavilion bulging more than the other side. Interestingly, the jeweller thought it was perfectly cut once but sustained a damage, hence a slightly funky recut to pretty it up without losing too much size and weight.
