My stuff is FINALLY ready. These are not my pictures, so don't complain to me that my jeweller has the lousiest light set up for photography. As you can see, there is practically no ambient lighting so he had to use flash. I haven't received the package yet but I cannot wait.

I'm going to start off with the pear green garnet. So it isn't a perfect fit, but I don't care. I bought a quality (hefty) platinum setting with ideal cut diamond melees at a great price and gosh darn it, I'm going to use it. The problem lies not with the setting but the pear. It isn't well cut with the culet slightly off-centered, one side of the pavilion bulging more than the other side. Interestingly, the jeweller thought it was perfectly cut once but sustained a damage, hence a slightly funky recut to pretty it up without losing too much size and weight.

This is a super interesting stone where the metal colour really affected the face up colour. The AVC diamond is an L and faced up surprisingly white and in certain lighting, a slight white lace tint. It was previously set in a white gold setting. Now that it is set in 18K yellow, it looks like a completely different diamond! I decided I wanted to play up the warmth and it worked far better than I expected. The AVC looks a bit dirty but that kozibe effect gets me every time. It is paired up with 2 Burmese red spinels purchased almost 6 years ago. This is not a full custom setting but a modification. It used to house a smaller stone with 2 side rounds.

Can I cheat and post my EC reset here? Okay, just one teeny tiny pic. I'll put the rest of it in SMTB. This is also not a new setting but a modification of a setting that I love. It is a inspiration replica of the Harry Winston butterfly-like setting.

These two went back to the shop for minor tweaking. They were just slightly offset but it bothered me too much every time I wore them. It is fixed now.

I have requested that the diamond/spinel ring prongs be "sharpened" up a bit so the shipping might be delayed a little depending on the jeweller's response. As I don't have the rings in hand yet, this are all the pictures I have to share. Sorry.

Ehhhh......I'm not sure I am up to taking so many rings out to photograph them. It would take days because I'm such a lousy photographer. This is when I would need Kenny's help. Well, I've resized the diamond pictures and they will be in SMTB in a few minutes. The pictures should also be slightly larger.

Wow, those red spinels are spectacular.

I love the color on the garnet as well--sometimes an imperfect cut seems to "suit" a stone to my eye, and I think this is such a case.

My favorite is the pink tourm in the Art Deco setting! Its ironic, because, as you may recall, I tried to talk you out of putting the bright pink tourmaline in!
