I love these red spinels too and am glad just about everyone can see why. These are the richest medium dark reds I own without much brown or orange. I think my other rings will languish in the vault for quite some time once I receive this ring. Thank you Chris, CC, Minou, Catmom, Greg and Katharath.

Greg, I hear that the AVC faces up whiter than the AVR but am not sure why. Are you planning to use a white, yellow or rose metal? The three affects the face up colour of the diamond.

I'd use a white metal, platinum. Hearing an AVC faces up whiter than an AVR is good food for thought.
