So, since I haven''t gotten around to making a knot bio... or learning how to do a knot bio... Then I''m just going to put it all here (it''s much easier to do it this way anyhow, plus, I spend a lot more time here than the knot). Now, I can kinda keep track of all of the details, and you guys can help me with decisions and make suggestions if you want to chime in!

First off, here is our ceremony location in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Most of you have seen it but I am just so totally in love with this chapel & whenever I''m considering something (colors, dresses, etc.), I always go back to these pictures to see if it seems to fit with the chapel setting:

Fgallery1-8.jpg

Fgallery2-5.jpg

So, I will not be doing any ceremony decorations in the chapel. In my opinion, the setting & architecture cannot be enhanced so I''m not going to try.

That is the most breath taking chapel I have ever seen, I agree that extra decorations would be overkill.
gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous...
What''s next?
Anxiously Awaiting more!

Reception: This is a hotel in Eureka Springs built in the late 1800''s where we will be having the reception. Unfortunately they don''t have many photos on their website - too bad, because the place & grounds are really beautiful.

Here are the grounds:

And this is reception room. I love that it is a blank slate but not to generic or boring. In the middle of the picture you can see french doors that open out onto the grounds in the first picture.

Thanks Tybee! I swear, that chapel almost brings me to tears it is so beautiful! I'm soooo thrilled to be able to have our wedding in such an amazing setting.

So, for the colors I'm doing mostly green (like a yellowish green - not lime - but what I describe as lemongrass) & ivory w/ a dark hot pink as an accent.

For my bouquet I will have all green orchids & the stems will be wrapped with either ivory ribbon or a similar shade of green ribbon. Something like this:

bq_heather1.jpg

I think we will do something similar to this for the centerpieces - but w/ only the one tall vase containing a green orchid stem surrounded with votives and light green glass rocks (is that what you call those things?).

I want to keep the centerpieces simple... We are thankfully saving a lot of money by not decorating the chapel so that enables me to have the orchids that I really want. Even so, the orchids are sooooooo expensive.... My decor mantra has become "keep it simple". And, I started thinking back on weddings I''ve attended and/or been in. I remember: the food, the music, what the bride (usually my friend) wore, and what the bridesmaids/I wore. I don''t remember the flowers... at all. So, I want it all to look nice, but flowers are not one of my top priorities...

InStyleCpiece1.jpg

My bridesmaids will be wearing this color and we''re still debating the dress a little. We had almost decided 100% on this particular dress. But then I realized that the skirt is very straight, not a-line. That is fine for my MOH, who is my 21 year old cousin who runs marathons... She doesn''t have a lot of curves and the straight skirt will look fine on her.

I love your taste! everthing looks perfect!

But my other 2 BMs are more curvy - not chubby but they both have boobs & hips so we found this dress that might work better for them. It''s a 2-piece & has an a-line skirt. Plus, it would probably be easier for them to wear than a strapless? Opinions?

Watters2439.jpg

And the BM bouquets will be all ivory w/ either ivory or deep hot pink ribbon - I''m not if the pink would look out of place or like an afterthought? But I''d like to incorporate it somewhere.

The moms & granny will have ivory corsages. The groomsmen, dads, & grandpa will have ivory bouts. FI will have a green orchid bout. Although, I''m considering having orchid corsage & bout for my grandparents - they are the only living grandparents we have & I would like them to have a place of honor somehow. I am extremely close to them & they both have had various health problems recently, especially my granpa (who is walking me down the aisle), and so I''m trying to think of ways to honor them & what they mean to me...

Teebee,
I agree, I LOVE your taste. First of all, I''m printing out that picture of a bouqete (I hope you don''t mind--copying is the most sincere form of flattery) --I''ve personally been stymied as far as colors and flowers go. Yours is the first bouqet that really spoke to me. I think your green theme is perfect, especially for your locations. Your bridesmaids will love you. I LOVE that dress (the second one) I think it''s gorgeous.

Okay, now for the good stuff - WEDDING DRESSES!!!!!

Most of you know that I was planning on a Lazaro w/ mult-colored embroidered bodice. For various reasons, I''ve decided against it. Right now, there are 3 gowns that I''m really leaning towards...

Maggie "Jamie" ~ I love this dress but just not sure that I''ve got the figure for it. Melissa Sue posted some wonderful detailed pics in the big huge wedding dress thread:

I LOVE the first dress!! and the color & fabric are divine!

Ooh, teebee, I want to have your wedding!!! That chapel is absolutely amazing. It seriously gives me chills as I picture myself walking down the aisle!! Haha--too bad we don''t have anything like that in NYC! Oh man, it''s just gorgeous and definitely does not need any enhancements. Your bouquet is beautiful and will be perfect with your colors--I love orchids. As for the bridesmaid dresses, I think I like the second one better. Strapless can be a real pain in the butt and if it''s too straight like you said, they won''t be able to dance. I love that Maggie dress. I think it is very elegant--have you tried it yet?

This is so much fun, much better than the Knot. Keep em coming!!!

Thanks JCrow!

Ha! Copy all you want Tybee because I''m sure I copied almost everything from someone else!! That is why I love PS over theknot.com - I''m not organized enough to keep track of where I got a picture or idea & those knotties are very possessive of those kinds of things - and totally viscious (sp?) if you post a pic w/out proper credit!!! Me? I could care less b/c like you said, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and b/c who the he!! is gonna know??? We all live in completely different areas of the country so it''s not like someone is going to attend my wedding and then your wedding and think ''teebee did the same thing at her wedding, i bet tybee copied her!!'' And really, I got e-ring, bouquet, and color ideas from Mara!

I loooooove this Casablanca dress!!

I love you style! The chapel...goreous. The reception hall...gorgeous. The flowers...gorgeous. The bridesmaid gowns...gorgeous! Good luck on the dress hunt. I''m planning very similar flowers by the way. How much per stem is your florist running on those orchids? I''m shopping around Louisville, KY to find a good deal. But I''m just about to start and have no idea what they might cost.

And the 3rd dress. This is Maggie "Celeste". I love love love this dress and of the three, I think this one would probably be the most flattering for my body type/figure. I''m short & curvy

I can''t really explain this very well, but I like that the dress flatters both the model''s chest & shows that she has a waist too. Um, like, a lot of dresses, when worn by girls with boobs, don''t really do a good job of differentiating the boobs from the waist, ya know? I know I''m not explaining it very well... Sorry.

I love the organza overlay... And the neckline is at least slightly scooped. A v-neck or scoop looks better on me than straight... Maybe it can be altered to a v-neck or that might look weird. Plus, it has the corset style lace-up back, which I like b/c I''m hoping that I will be losing weight right up to the wedding day & that makes last minute adjustments easier... Plus it comes with the purse and shawl thingie!!

WOW, that Celeste is amazing! I totally agree about the boob-waist issue, and my #1 requirement for my gown was a corset back. have you tried it on?

Thank you!! I can''t remember exactly how much the orchid stems are - but I think that the centerpieces are running me around $25 per table (w/ 1 stem/centerpiece so I guess around $25/stem). The quote I got for the entire was just under $1500 and $400 of that was for the delivery, set-up & tear-down. I think that is a pretty reasonable quote for a small-town florist in Arkansas? I had no idea about cost either, but was hoping to keep it around $1500 so I was really thrilled when I got the quote - my heart was set on the orchids & was really worried that I wouldn''t be able to have them w/ my piddly budget.

Thanks again!! I''m glad you understand the boob-waist thing, it''s hard to explain, but it was the first thing I noticed about the dress. I haven''t tried on ANY dresses yet, I feel like a big fat blob. But I''ve made plans to go try on dresses a couple of weekends from now (during fall break when I don''t have class for a few days)!!

Your such a sweetie!! Seriously though, I bet there are some amazing wedding locations in NYC - I guess nothing like a glass chapel in the woods - but in my area, finding a really unusual or unique setting is pretty difficult. In Oklahoma, there are thousands of churches - but most are very generic looking. This place in Arkansas was such a find. I think you''re spot on about the BM dresses - the 2nd one makes a lot more sense & will be less of a PITA. My matron of honor only requested that I try to find a dress that she could possibly wear on a cruise or something & I think that the 2nd dress is something that I would wear on a cruise.

OH WOW>>> WOW >>> WOW>>>!!!! I love the chapel
.
I like the wedding dress #2~~

Everything looks like it is going to be sooo beautiful!

teebee!! Oh my gosh! I had seen your chapel before, but THAT RECEPTION location looks GORGEOUS too! The centerpeice idea is ADORABLE. Makes me rethink my boring old flowers..

I LOVE all of the dress choices.. Especially the Casablanca. :) Try it on for me, would ya?! i just LOVE that gown. I also love Maggie''s "Jamie" too. The third one, Celeste, is it? I totally see what you are saying about the girls boobs/waist.. but.. that could be due to a number of factors other than the dress... such as her bra, the camera angle, photoshop.. The dress is pretty.. I just don''t like it as much as the others.

I like the bridesmaid dresses too! Watters makes awesome bridesmaid dresses. They were just above the price range I wanted to make my girls spend!

Teebee I adore your chapel. Not loving the Casbablanca, what's with the bow? I'm not a bow girl..hehee. Anyway I adore that first Maggie...that's totally up my alley...but yeah you are right it will show everything, get a pair of Spanx and you'll be all set. How fun....I love your orchid bouquet, did you see the pictures of mine, it's similar but with some pink cymbs too. I love the wrapping it with shiny ribbon, ours was a fuschia color.

I wish I could get married all over again, with all these cool new dresses..hehee.

Oh and my alreadydonethistwocents is that you should go in and try some stuff on, you may be surprised at how things you think will look great DON'T and vice versa...I was surprised at what looked good on me vs not when I finally got into some dresses. It's a huge help... have fun!

everything looks amazing, the ceremony location? WOW I love it!!!

teebee... what wonderful taste you have!

Just a note that the watters strapless dress that you showed actually come with removeable spaghetti straps.. not sure if that would make a difference to your curvier, boobier gals, but some of mine opted to use the straps. The two-piece is also lovely (we thought about getting those as well!).

Teebee,

All of your plans are wonderful. That chapel is unlike anything I have ever seen. I am excited to see what dress you end up choosing!!!

Thanks for the opinions & advice all - it really is helpful to get some perspective - sometimes I just feel buried in my own thoughts and visions & a fresh point of view is so helpful!

Mara ~ I have seen your bouquet - I have it saved in my "Orchid Bouquets" folder! And your right, sometimes I can be completely surprised by what does or does not look good on me. I''ve been dealing with some of my strange body issues for years (except for the boobs... those are only a few years old... and they actually have evened me out a lot!!) so I think I get too focused on what I know, rather than exploring possibilities sometimes.

rfath ~ that''s good to know re: the spaghetti straps. I thought that might be a possibility but... since they''d still have bra issues we will probably go with the 2nd dress, just to make it easier. I hated strapless bras when I had little boobs... and now that mine are bigger I still hate them even though I don''t really have to wear one...

Okay, dress ramblings...

Currently #2, the Casablanca is my least favorite - I love the neckline & the bodice, but like Mara mentioned, the bow thing throws me off. I don''t hate it - but... well, I know I''m always bringing up the short girl issue... but it''s an issue nonetheless & I know that bows & sashes have the tendency to cut me in half & make me look even shorter.

Long lines and things that emphasize my waist tend to be a lot more flattering on me, and so I love Jamie & Celeste the most. I know that the boob/waist thing on the Celeste may be partially a result of bra, lighting, angle, photo retouching, etc., but I don''t think it is a completely illusory effect. If so, they should start using the same methods for photographing and marketing all of their dresses!!
2.gif
Because, I certainly know that I would look harder at dresses that seemed to define the waist better!!

I mean, my boobs are not gargantuan by any means, but they are a full C or small D... and I''ve got hips.... I do have a nice, small waist (actually, not right now, but I''m capable of having a small waist when I''m at my preferred weight)... but I''m also short-waisted & it''s easy for my waist to get lost amidst the boobs & hips in clothes that aren''t as tailored or structured in that area. And the Casablanca looks kinda straight through the bodice area...

But who knows, I''m definitely keeping an open mind & am trying to pump myself up to go try on...

Sorry all, I''m just rambling & thinking out loud here!! Thanks for ''listening''!
