I've become intrigued with rose cut diamonds after seeing Caysie's instagram photos recently. They look beautiful with the settings she's designing for them. I've never seen a rose cut in person - tell me about your rose cut and what made you fall for it?

I'll be watching for the answers as I don't have one yet, but I did just buy one from her! To me, they are just kind of romantic paired with the right setting, and Caysie is obviously so gifted in design and knows what they need to be complete! They have the appeal of the large facets reflecting light like other old cuts, but it's much more subtle. A huge advantage is the spread for the weight since the bottoms are flat! I'll obviously report first hand feelings once I get mine. But I am loving the pieces I am seeing!

The first word that came into mind was "romantic". I don't have one either, but I would not mind one after I get my other pieces. I would have to be in the mood to wear it. It's not a look I would wear every day, but would suit my mood on specific days.

I have one coming too- a spring gulch with a 8 mm stone. Caysie has totally turned me to them. I had a bracelet made with rose cut diamonds and sapphires. I love how subtle the flashes are. It is so different than a mrb or oec. Like a ballerina compared to a disco queen. And don't get me wrong - I adore a disco queen!

Oh wow @ceg! Awesome! What metal are you using, yg?

One other thing...I agree with lljsmom that these aren't going to be an everyday piece as all of us already have one or more wedding sets and other jewelry! lol! But I thought of one other thing that appeals to me about rose cuts...they are probably more uncommon than OECs and OMCs. So these will be pieces that very, very few people have ever even seen. I know hathalove told me she had random compliments the first day she wore hers out!

When caysie first had the spring gulch on her instagram I knew I HAD TO HAVE IT! Mine will be 18k yg with a platinum bezel. I am obsessed with yg lately! I think it will end up being my daily rhr. The rose cuts are so subtle and easy to wear, actually almost casual IMO. Someone called it earthy and it totally fits!

I agree, @ceg. They are very wearable which fits very well with my lifestyle, too! I like all metals, so I am kind of undecided on that part!

Okay..... Oh Caysey@#!$$ There are times when I wish I could stay away from her instagram. So tell me, Ceg and DS - would you use this as a rhr or could it be a casual ER? I'm thinking it would be a nice, casual ER for traveling to Europe, etc. Decisions, decisions, decisions. I must have one.

I have a rose cut that I wear occasionally as a RHR. I love the profile and spread. I do think it is a romantic soft cut. I really love Casie's new designs and would love to have one. Does anyone know if the stones are newly cut or is she using old cut stones?

I am trying to not follow her ig too! Just way too tempting!

I plan to wear my spring gulch as a rhr but I think it could go for an ering too. I like the rose cut solitaire for a rhr. Since the cut is so different than most people's ering and the fact that it is more subtle than other cuts makes it perfect for a rhr that wouldn't compete with a more traditional ering. KWIM, I probably wouldn't wear a 1.5ct solitaire mrb as a rhr but a 1.5ct rose cut is understated enough for me to feel comfortable.

I love my rose cut. It has a constant shimmer across the stone. It is very liquid and reminds me of the surface of a lake. It always glows and is so amazing in low light situations....candlelight is amazing. I have changed my setting several times but my love for the stone remains consistent and I can't imagine having a different center stone. I think I love that it's different and unique. I always get excited to see people with rose cuts. I have never seen another one outside of the boards. I can't wait to see everyone's new rings!
