Tennis bracelet, I have 2 of 3 quotes who should I pick?

I have been in contact with BGD, WF & IDJ for a 4+ctw bezel set, 7.5" diamond tennis bracelet. Luann at IDJ gave me her quote over 2 weeks ago. WF sent me their's a couple days later. BGD has yet to put something together. Lesley says that her bracelet supplier is not answering emails. She's not answering mine either and I'm getting frustrated with BGD. I am anxious to place my order and need advise.

IDJ 14k wg, .10 diamonds, ps quality stones $4900
WF 18k wg, .09 diamonds, 4.14 ctw, F VS ACA $6357 ($6600 less $75 new customer, 3% wire, -$30 my banks wire charge)
WF says that they can only find a bezel setting for 9 pters

I have an IDJ 20 pter eternity, ps quality, that I will be wearing on the same hand as the bracelet. I don't mind the 14k but I don't think it would be much more to upgrade to 18k if I wanted. I'm thinking, my ring sparkles like crazy but it might not look the same when compared to ACA diamonds. I have the funds to go with WF or maybe BGD if I ever get a quote. So, what do you think?
 
Hands down, the WF one. The diamonds are better quality and the bracelet is 18k. Very little visual difference in 9 and 10 points if set in a bezel. Can they show you a picture of the setting?

All I can say is that when Yenny sold her IDJ eternity ring, the buyer's jeweler or appraiser said the stones were not all the quality that they were represented as (and IDJ was working with them, fortunately). So be sure to get it independently appraised if you get it there. If you get the WF diamonds, as long as they are the size you want, you would have no regrets because you would have bought the best quality. I made that kind of mistake earlier in life, but I (usually) don't anymore. I have never regretted buying high quality, ever. I am just sorry my 4 ct tennis bracelet was pre-PS. I imagine it is the quality of IDJ...really pretty and nice, but mentally for me, I wish I could have those H&A stones!

(But there won't be any problem wearing the ring with the bracelet, regardless.)
 
WF! You will not regret the ACA stones!
 
In the future, I'm going to go w/ WF for the ACA stones in their tennis bracelet. I have several pieces from them and I'm a very happy w/ the quality!
 
I like the bezels of the WF setting.

What pics are you talking about for IDJ?
 
I received the quote from BGD. They quoted for 14k so I asked for a new one with 18k. I also asked a lot more questions about the description of the setting (mm and shape of bezel) and wanted to know if they had a photo. It was a few hundred more than WF but they are using .10 stones where WF is using .09. I know they will be more than WF even if you take in account the larger stones. I don't know if less then .50ctw is worth the extra cost. I hope to get a reply early next week because I want to order by Friday.

Pick WF! I am so happy with the ACA diamonds in my WF bracelet.
 
I think I'm the minority here but I would probably go with IDJ for 2k less. But realize that I have a 3ct tennis bracelet that I practically never wear (not realistic with 2 toddlers). So a tennis bracelet to me is only something I pull out and wear as an after thought. I don't want to say I'm more price sensative with jeweler that aren't staple items to me, but I guess when I look at comparing a .9 to a .10 diamond I personally just won't see the difference in paying that much more for it. Obviously others would. If this is something you plan on wearing every single day I might think about it more. I have never heard about IDJ having issues with their quality before DS mentioned something above so if you do go with IDJ I would make sure you have something in writting that states your expectation for the diamonds. I have always found LuAnn to be pleasant though i have never puchased from her so I would be surprized if she steered you wrong.
 
It appears to me to be $1457 difference which includes ideal cut diamonds, VS2 clarity, and 18K white gold. I think the WF bracelet is a step up in quality and the price difference is warranted. However, that doesn't mean that the IDJ bracelet wouldn't be pretty because I am sure it would be.
 
DS, I do realize that the WF bracelet would be better quality taking in all the specs. I'm waiting for Luann to let me know what the cost of 18k would be. As far as being si, as long as there is no carbon I'm fine with that. My eternity is si, there is one stone that has a small black pin spot but it's on the side not under the table. I just thought my new baby bezel signature cut melee would out sparkle IDJ's "ideal" cut. I've only had a short time to compare them so I'll be making Andy crazy the next couple days with the loupe attached to my eye going from light source to light source. I am the one that purchased Yenny's ring. I was very upset when I was told that it wasn't what Yenny thought it was(I'll find out for sure later) and did contact IDJ. After thinking about it for a while, I decided to personalize it with the bezeled sapphire. I fiqured I got it for a great price so I'd go with it. If I had purchased new, I would of had a different outlook.
If I decide to purchase the less expensive bracelet I will be sure to have a long talk about my expectations. I will also tell them that I will be having everything appraised for insurance coverage by a local appraiser that I found on pricescope.
I know you would go with WF but if the sparkle is the same I don't know if I really need the mind clean factor. I don't think I'll be sleeping much the next couple days.
 
I forgot to add. I'm still waiting for BGD to answer my additional questions. I thought I would get something today, but no. If I go with IDJ I will feel so bad because Sheenah at WF has been wonderful and responded right away to all my questions.

Ahhhhhh!!!! I didn't realize you were the one that bought Yenny's ring! I actually considered it myself! You got a great deal! I hope it all turns out okay regarding the quality of stones.

I had to laugh when you said the thing about having the loupe attached to your eye! :lol: Many of us can relate to that! I just think with the baby bezels it is harder to tell differences between very good/excellent and ideal because of the small stone size. My diamond bracelet looks great and the stones are surely not ideal but they appear clean under the loupe and the bracelet is bright and sparkly. I do know from my pendant that BG makes high quality handmade bezels, though, and that is important.

This is the hardest part about buying online..the inability to look at the quality of the two items and choose which one to buy, To me, the WF one is more of a sure thing, and that is probably why I am willing to pay for that security. On the other hand, there are people here who have bought major jewelry from IDJ and are totally happy (Bliss and many others). So I really think you will be fine either way! :))
 
I just heard back from Luann at IDJ. The upcharge for 18k will be $350 so the IDJ bracelet is $5200. So now the WF bracelet using .09 diamonds is $1150 more than the .10 diamonds from IDJ. Both of them use outside stock settings. I'm disappointed I still have not heard back from BGD.
 
I would be choosing from the two that have been responsive to your requests and take that as a sign that things may go more smoothly with the making of the piece. Basically you just have to decide if you want to save $1000 and get a very nice quality bracelet or pay $1000 more for top cut and higher clarity. They will likely look the same to others. But only you can decide if you prefer having the higher quality diamonds or not. Good luck with your decision!
 
DS, you are right. I was going to spend all day(totally obsessed pser) comparing my BGD baby bezels to my IDJ eternity but the weather is not cooperating. It is overcast and foggy so I cannot get the diffused light that I need.

That figures! That has happened to me before, too, when I really needed to see stones in the outside lighting!
 
I received the quote from BGD using .10 diamonds they are at $6800 for the bracelet. They are in the same ballpark as WF considering WF is using .09 stones. Maybe a little better because they are over .40ctw more. Lesley said she couldn't give me any measurements of the setting until it was made because they had never made a full bezel tennis bracelet before. So now I have all my info and will decide by Fr.
 
I ordered my bracelet today from IDJ. I've started a new thread in rt and will post pics when I get it in a few weeks. I did include a pic of the setting. I decided to go with IDJ because their quote was so much less and Luann promised that Yekutiel will hand pick the best stones. With my savings I can find some other sparkly to buy. :appl:
 
I'm excited that you made a decision!! I have a few IDJ pieces and they are incredible 'bang for the buck'. Yekutiel will certainly pick you amazing stones - he's a man of his word and I hope you'll be super pleased with the finished product!!! Hurry up delivery!!
