Ok, so after my week-long obsession with asschers, I am back to the starting line looking at tension settings with RB diamonds.

I have read a TON of posts on here about tension settings and I have seen some people mention that these types of settings don''t look good on smaller fingers. I am a size 4 finger and I have tried on some of the GA line at a local jeweler. They are more bulky and heavy than traditional settings, but don''t seem overly uncomfortable, but of course that is only wearing it for a few minutes.

My question is do you think it will look good on my size 4 finger? (I know opinions and preferences will vary a lot)

Also- I am looking at a .70 diamond for reference. And I still haven''t decided if I want to go white gold with GA, or black titanium with Boone Rings. Or regular titanium I guess, but I prefer the black. But the white gold would probably go with mostly anything I wear. Ok, now I am really rambling.

Any thoughts on the size 4 issue or the white gold vs black titanium?

I will attach some images of settings I am considering. This first one is one I have had my eye on for a few years now, but I have never tried it on. A local B&M is ordering a sample for me to try on soon though.

I have tried this one on and liked it a lot

This I would get in black titanium (black zirconium) without the platinum inlay. He recommends a larger stone for this ring than I will be getting though.

This I am also considering in black.

I''m a sz 4 and have tried on tension settings - I think they look wonderful - I especially like the 2nd one you posted! I don''t have thoughts on the metals.......I''ll leave that to someone more knowledgable.

omg. I'm exactly like you, size 4 and in love with tension settings too! and i've tried on some tension settings in some B&M shops too. I realised they look great on our size 4 fingers, but i do notice i have a problem with too thick bands, i find some of the bands being too thick thus to me it's ugly. What's your ideal thickness of your ring?

I'm in love with Tommy_D's e-ring!

personally i like the third one, but i would like its thickness to reduce too.

Certainly don''t get one if you feel they don''t look good on your fingers but keep in mind how much better they make the diamond look.

AFAIC, that''s the trade off, but only you can decide.

Oh wow, such quick replies! I am glad that there are other people with size 4''s who like the tension settings too!
Maybe it really depends on the setting as well, I don''t really like it when the band is wider than the diamond personally, but I guess it does offer more protection.

Motownmama- I really like that one too, I thought I was totally sold on the first one until I went to the store and tried this one on!

evelyn.xyz- I know there are so many choices! I''m not sure what thickness I want. I guess just so that it is comfortable enough to wear everyday.

kenny- I guess that is what it will come down to, it really only matters what I like after all right

Do you think that any of these settings will help make the diamond look especially good?

I got this ring at Boone''s custome made for my wife, she''s a size 5. This is a .80 and she loves it.
