Texting

i LOVE to text and hate hearing my phone ring.. it makes my skin crawl because i dont like to engage in small talk. Ironically, you can't shut me up in person sometimes.

my mom texted me a picture of her birthday bling yesterday while she was at work. it was hilarious, since woman can't text words but manages to send pictures of her ring.

I am an old bag and I love texting. I am able to "talk" to my DH at work without everyone hearing the conversation or leaving a record of an email on the company server. I can get a text at 4 am from my son who says he won't be home tonight. I've gotten texts from people who were in very loud environments where you could never have a phone conversation. Gotten addresses, directions and phone numbers texted which proved very valuable because you can refer to it later.

I especially enjoy texting to stay in touch with my kids in the middle of the day. I can say, "hi. how are you?" way more often than I would ever dial up my adult children (which I wouldn't do just to say Hi). And I have to say it's a real pick-me-up to receive a photo, like when my daughter goes shoe shopping and asks which pair I like, or my son sends me a cool photo of an event he is attending. Oh, and my other old bag gf sends photos of our dogs when she puppysits for me.

Texting while driving is illegal where I live.

I text when a phone conversation is not necessary. I don't mind texting and it's actually often more convenient than calling someone, but I don't understand the CONSTANT nature of it we see in teens, unless of course, it's easier to text than talk and risk mom and dad overhearing something that might get them in trouble.

I never text or talk while driving. Seriously, NEVER. Everyone who calls or texts me knows that I don't answer while I'm driving. Too dangerous and not worth the risk to me.
