After thinking it over I think I'm returning it... It is lovely but has a large chip out the back of it. It's close to the "girdle" (do they have those on cabs) which I'm concerned about setting.

The pictures shiw the laser-ness of the stone. The color isn't exactly accurate but its a lovely green. I'm just too nervous about the chip

awww Sorry to hear that, Neil! It is a beautiful stone, but definitely always follow your "gut" on these things, and if you are concerned about the chip then you'll end up hesitating to set it, which is a bummer.

Oww, sorry to hear this Niel. I cannot see the chip in the pic, but if it concerns you than you could indeed better return it. Or discuss it with the vendor. You could perhaps get a discount and then you could have it bezel set?
Apart from the chip it's a beautiful stone.
