Just wanted to thank all of you experienced members for posting the information that I used as part of the basis in selecting the diamond for the engagement ring.

I''ve lurked on here for almost 5 months.... searching these threads for information while keeping another window open to online diamond vendors.... it felt like this purchase took a painstakingly long time. I hope I got it right, but it''s my first time purchasing. In any case, I''m sure I''ll learn a thing or three from you all before it''s upgrade time.

I know it's fairly traditional compared to some truly exquisite pieces that I have seen on the forum, but I LOVE taking the ring out and looking at it when she's doing something else in the house.

I can only imagine how much she will get lost in a daydream when looking at it. She's big into the photography hobby, so I imagine that I will have much better (hand) pictures to report back with!

How many days until 8/14/09? This time stuff needs to go faster!

junebug, I am bursting at the seams to give it to her!

We have a house in Virginia Beach but will be vacationing with her family in Chicago very soon, I want to wait until we are back to see all her old friends.

Tonight we were watching the TV show "Kendra" (from the Girls Next Door) and this episode was her wedding episode (at the playboy mansion, which must have been interesting for the groom). Anyhow, so after the vows were said and the show went to commercial, my gf was like, "I want to get married!!" (In a half joking/half genuine way).

I think she has a sixth sense that I'm going to ask soon!
