Thanksgiving Plans

FI and I will be hosting and my parents. his mom and her boyfriend, and his sister will all be over (only the sister will actually stay in our townhouse, thank goodness!). We did this last year and it worked out very well. Our moms get along great together (his mom even went down to visit my parents a few months ago without us around, so they''re good friends now). I''m excited! On Friday we''ll go into NYC. I really want to get to the Natural History Museum and check out the horse exhibit before it closes in January, so we''ll go and do that (well, they''ll probably check out the museum while I''m at the special exhibit ... hopefully my horsey co-worker can meet me there with her riding trainer so I can talk horses instead of just dragging my poor FI around

). Anyway, on Saturday we have an appointment at a bridesmaid dress shop. They do have a few wedding dresses that I want to show off, but mostly I want FSIL to try on some dresses and give her opinion. But she''s built like a model (so is MOH) so it probably doesn''t matter what we end up picking because it will look awesome on them.

Oh, and how can I forget that on Saturday my mom wants to make pierogies. That''s almost more exciting than turkey, mashed potatoes, and stuffing!! Mm ... pierogies ...

CNY- I was telling my mom about this thread and her only piece of advice to you (or anyone else who has a FF who is about to have "the talk") is to ask your FF to include your mother or to talk to her as well at some point during the weekend. FF didn''t and he regrets it. They ended up talking on the phone later that week. Though, the whole time FF and my father were outside talking in the boat shop we were inside talking about future wedding plans (a small miracle since my mother HATES weddings!).

Spending the day with family (Mom, dad, brother)and friends. My SO has to work so he''s staying here in Virginia Beach. We normally do the traditional thing with turkey, stuffing, corn, cranberry sauce, mashies and gravy.
