I posted earlier and I received some great education and great recommendations. Thank you everyone

I have been looking around and I found/created the following. Please let me know what you think! If you can help me with one better I would really appreciate! Sadly I didn't find the recommendations in Price Scope till today and I need it by Dec 31 so unfortunately I can't go with my first find on WhiteFlash. :(

Thank you all in advance!

Setting: Platinum Classic Three Stone

Center: 1.038 I SI1 Signature Blue Round
http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/diamonds/diamond-details/1.038-i-si1-round-diamond-ags-bl-104062571004
Sides: 0.508 I VS2 Signature Blue Round

http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/diamonds/diamond-details/0.511-i-vs2-round-diamond-ags-bl-104062031036

Budget: $10,000
It is a little over $10,000, but it seems worth it.

I was originally looking at smaller diamonds with an F or higher and VS2 or higher, but the gentleman at Brian Gavin has explained that this may be a better combination for my price range.

My questions is given this size will I notice the I and SI1 on the main stone? I know there are variable opinions on this so I wanted to see for this specific stone whether I would notice it. Brian Gavin Blue Series supposdely helps with lower colors

Lastly how are Brian Gavin's settings? Will I even be able to notice the difference between the one above and the Tiffany one (which would only be a 0.52 D Vs2 center for the same price)

Thank you!

I wanted to throw out ONE idea.... though i love your choices and feel free to ignore me
if you went with the three stone pear, you could get a larger stone

You dont need to worry about the cut quality on BGD stones. They are "vetted" to very high standards.

Here is the video on color...
http://vimeo.com/3288695

A well cut "I" might show an ever so slight tint to some people but to most people will be a nice white stone. Can you
find a store near by like Jareds and go see some of their Peerless collection to see if an "I" will work for you? Or, have
BGD send you the center stone before you have it set to see if you are ok with the color.

I have a small BGD blue J colored stone that I love. Does it look white up to my D colored stone...no, but on its on
it is still a nice white stone.

Did she say she wanted that tiffany one? I only ask because if she wanted side pears i would try to give them to her. If she wants just a 3 stone then i agree thise sides are a tad big

Personally I love the proportions of a 1 ct center with .5 sides - it's all just what you prefer.

I don't think you'll be disappointed with BGD quality work. And I think the blue line is vetted by him so you're not going to get any bad cuts there.

I think the only choices you may have to make are on color. If you compromise a little for the sides and go for something in beyween too big (.5) and too small (.25) and get .33 sides (somtething close to 4.5mm as opposed to .5 which is about 5mm) for it, then you might be able to go up in color on the center to an H. I bet an I would be fine but if you are nervous about it, maybe see if you can find some to look at or consider the slightly smaller sides route with higher color center.

It's going to be beautiful. I really like the trellis setting. It has some similarities to that Whitflash one, swoopy and feminine.

Here is a recent i someone bought for reference. I know the color may be off depending on the colors for your monitor but im sure she can givr you a testimonial about the color. She was worried it would be too low as well.

I vote smaller side stones and that larger i i posted. He had a few under 8k in the blue collection that were hs and is. I think you coukd for sure go lower on the side stones. And then by comparison the center will look huge!

I think that the Tiffany's three-stone ring have a 1:2 ratio of side:center stone weight so the ones that you picked seemed about right.

Just a note about the BGD three-stone classic setting: I choose the exact same setting for a 3 stone ring from BGD and when it arrived, the sidestones weren't aligned properly. I never saw it in real life, but my bf told me that one of the sidestones was set lower than the other sidestone so when you ran your finger over the top of the ring, it didn't feel even. At first, BGD thought that they couldn't have made a mistake with their CADs, but they took some measurements and confirmed that it was misaligned. They offered to remake the setting and fix the problem but we ended up returning the ring and now we're starting the search all over again. I think that our story is probably an outlier and your setting will very likely be perfect, but just make sure to look at it very carefully while you're still in the return period.

I would go for .25 or .30 sidestones with a one carat center:

These would be my choice: http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/diamonds/diamond-details/0.310-h-si2-round-diamond-ags-104059065060 and http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/diamonds/diamond-details/0.303-h-vs2-round-diamond-ags-104061074085

That means 1,090 for the sidestones

I'd also do this setting instead, as it is VERY close to the Tiffany, but makes the center stone the star more, which is a lovelier look in a three stone: http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/engagement-rings/open-gallery-accented-platinum-5448p

$1675 for that setting.
--------
2765 for sidestones and setting.

WHICH MEANS: You can get this H color center stone instead: http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/engagement-rings/open-gallery-accented-platinum-5448p

4.3 mm sidestones with 6.5 mm center are PERFECT proportions (.5 is too big).

All for a total price of: $9905

That would be what I would do. It's higher color. Better proportions and nicer setting all for a lower price.

THIS is what I mean by the proportions:

So how HUGE those half carat sides look with that center? AND THAT CENTER IS A 1.5 CARAT. With a one carat center 1/2 carat sides are not going to look good at all. The .30's I chose for you above are a much better choice for the Tiffany Look that you say you want.
