My newest and last engagement ring upgrade - 3.01 carat princess cut diamond solitaire. I upgraded my center stone through the Blue Nile upgrade program and the solitaire setting is a Fana Jewelry platinum solitaire with a hidden halo. I’m obsessed with my new ring!

My upgrade ring. It is 1.21 natural diamond, H, VS1 excellent cut on a platinum band. I pair it with a platinum eternity ring and a yellow gold diamond band. The new ring is from Costco. I took it to my jeweler, who made the rings I a wearing with it, appraised it and sized it. He said it was worth approximately $2000 more than what we paid for it.

Disclaimer, I'm an antique girl. My everyday ring is an approx 3 ct trinity with old mine cuts and my fancy, dressy one is an original art deco European cut, I think the center is around 1.5 ct

My beautiful boy got engaged to his darling girl and we couldn't be more pleased! I looked for a sticky thread on engagement rings in the Lab Grown section, but there isn't one, and since I figure this thread is more about design than anything else, hopefully this will fit here ok without breaking any rules.

Center stone is a lab-grown 1.89ct D VS1 oval, sourced by DKJ. Sides are .82ctw, D VS1 mined diamonds from Blue Nile. Setting is 18kt yellow gold with platinum head from DKJ, design by me. Secret stones, representing their birth stones, are emerald and sapphire.

I'm wishing them a lifetime of happiness. <3

Thanks, @Dandi - the proportions are perfect for her hand. Nathaniel is currently working on his PhD, and Mika is an art teacher. So money isn't exactly thick on the ground at this point. He hopes, one day, to replace the center stone with a mined diamond, but she doesn't care either way, so we'll see what happens in the years ahead.

Congratulations to the happy couple. Maybe just post that it’s a 1.89-carat diamond. Doesn’t really matter from where it’s sourced, does it? A diamond is a diamond!

Named after Ireland’s largest body of water, “Neaugh” (pronounced “Neh”/lNay”) is my “forever” diamond.
DH proposed (again) on 2/25/2025 with this AMAZING lab created Emerald Cut Diamond.
