Pavochon:

Roasting a turkey for Thanksgiving as if it were lechòn (suckling pig) has been a tradition in Puerto Rico since the island became an American commonwealth and adopted the holiday. The word pavochòn is a combination of the Spanish word for turkey, pavo, and the word lechòn.

On the Spanish speaking Caribbean islands, the meat of choice for the holidays is roasted suckling pork. So it only makes sense to combine the tradition of the islands with an American tradition and serve turkey that tastes like roasted pork for Thanksgiving.

That sounds frickin AWESOME!!!

I love PR. DH and I went to SJ two years ago, so much fun...
Oh man, you don''t even know! It''s freakin delicious!!! My mouth is watering just thinking about it! My aunt stuffs it with a pernil (pork) and yuca (cassava)! OMG

My personal favorite is stuffing. Not particularly healthy, but better than PIE!
Pie is good for you though.
Pumpkin IS a vegetable. Vegetables are good for you.

(at least that is what my stomach tells my brain)
1.gif
Except I don''t eat pumpkin pie. If I do pie it''s going to be pecan. And that is just sugar custard. Encased in a shell of fat and processed flour. With nuts on top, which have some protein, but are about half fat.

Pecan pie=not healthy AT ALL.
Nope, it''s actually one of the worst pies you can eat. They try to trick yoU!
29.gif
Yup. Just about. As for the worst food item...probably creme brulee...unless we''re talking just one food item, in which case the worst things you could eat would either be hydrogenated oil or lard.

Just in general by the way. Obviously for specific health conditions, other things can be worse...
Like the little packets that say DO NOT EAT. Those are definitely worse for you than creme brulee.

Pierna (you guys call it Pernil) with lots of crispy bits! We''ll also have empanadas, Arroz con Pollo, and flan! Plus all the traditional stuff, like we need more food.

Elle - You and I would be so screwed if we were alone together and there was a spider! I literally FREAK THE EF out if there is a spider ANY size in my house. I screamed bloody murder for J the other day when I saw a spider on the ceiling. I screamed at him the whole time that if he didn''t kill it and it got loose in our house I was moving in w/ my Mom. I think I need that hypnotherapy.

No, thank god.

I meant "died'' in the figurative sense. I had a rocking panic attack and cried for like 10 minutes.

I need therapy now. After the giant carantula... even tiny spiders terrify me. I tried posting a pic of the spider I saw in PR, but the google image search gave me so much anxiety my chest started tightening and i almost threw up.

SCARY!!! SLHGS:FJK:!!!!!
