Doctor doesn''t have an appt open until the 22nd...that''s a long time away.
40.gif

Ugh! Does she not realize how dire the sitch is?!?!?!?

Take it, and see if you can finagle in earlier.

...I talked to a nurse who said to come in and transferred me back to the desk to make an appt. I need to call back and say no bueno...this is so damn frustrating!

Tell them its important, sunny. You''re not getting your period and you''re not PG... and you''re worried and need to get in ASAP.

Thasss nothing. Unless it''s a pressing matter, I have a 4 to 6 month wait at my gynecologist''s office. Did you explain to the receptionist your situation?
The first time yes, the second time (when making the appt) no.

4-6 months!! Whoa!!
6.gif
Although I''m only seeing the RNP because the doc is too popular...

Oh man, T! My Gyno doesn''t take appts. more than a month out, so every July it''s a mad dash to get my August appt.

Call back and bother them. If you''re anxious enough and a PITA enough, you''ll get in sooner.

Yeah, apparently this happens a lot in NY. But luckily, if I need to see someone they always fit me in within 24 hours - otherwise I''d find another doc. For regular checkups, though, they want you to schedule 6 months ahead!

Ya Sunny take the apt but call them back and ask that they call you if they get any cancelations.

What do you do to settle your stomach? I woke up feeling terrible this morning, have eaten three crackers but don''t want to push it and end up being sick
40.gif

I''m going to blame the thickshake BF got me last night, I drank it because he got it for me but I drink soymilk only so this has left me feeling really rough.
Warm (not hot) tea. Wheat toast. bland crackers.

I pretty much just take a nibble of everything in the house and eat what doesn''t make me feel sicker. Sometimes that is plain pasta or icecream, but if that is what I can keep down then well...

If you usually stick to soy and are sick over dairy, enjoy.
When I get sick from dairy I grab a BIG slice of cheesecake or a nice fattening brownie or whatever I''m craving that is bad for me. May as well. It ALL comes out again before it has time to add any pounds. I''m gonna lose it all anyway so I figure I should enjoy what I eat.
Once my stomach decides which end to send everything out, I''m fine.

Maybe not the healthiest solution, but it means eating something that tastes yummy and still losing weight.

Excellent call, WL.

Oh and 4Ever gingerale works wonders for me as well.

You just reminded me of Shavuot two years ago....

I baked my usual cheesecake that I do once per year for Shavuot (10 inch NY cheesecake -- 40oz full fat cream cheese, 6 eggs + 5 egg yolks, heavy cream)

B gets sick from dairy really easily so he ate one small slice (made it halfway through) and I had a nice big one (plus the rest of his -- couldn''t let it go to waste). He was too sick and had no interest in any more of the cheesecake.
So I ate it.
All 10 inches. In 2 1/2 days.

I was SO SICK after that. But it was SO GOOD.

Lost 10 pounds.

PP, I LOVE that the shoes played a huge part in your b-pics! Amazing!

Thanks guys for the comments on the shoes. I fell in love with them all, especially the Magrits because they are works of art. And even though they are WAY MORE than I normally spend on a pair of shoes, I figured at the discount (more than 50% off) I couldn''t let them go.

In other news, I am SOOOOOO ANGRY with my dog right now. She won''t go pee outside, so I can''t feed her. And she doesn''t seem to get that I won''t feed her until she pees, so she''s holding it. I KNOW she has to pee. She hasn''t gone since last night. But since D is at work, I''m her only hope. And we don''t feed them until she pees because if we feed her before she pees, she gets so excited when we go to feed her that she pees right there on the floor. Which is just a mess because then she''s stepping in it and getting her tail in it, etc. The dog has serious food issues. She quivers and her hair stands on end when we get the food, and she looks absolutely feral. No problems with us and the food, she just wants it SO BAD.

It''s really annoying.

Thanks, Liz! I told him to make sure to gets tons of shoe shots
2.gif

I''m sorry about your pup. My mom''s one dog (a beagle/daschund mix) holds her pee in when something scares her outside, but it doesn''t seem to be the case in your situation.

Not my smartest idea. I put a lot of effort into making the perfect cheesecake and it was just SO good. I couldn''t bear the thought of tossing it out.

I decided that day that the best thing was to only make the 10 inch if we had guests. Otherwise it is safest to stick to my little 6oz ramikins and a scaled back recipe.

Thanks TP, warm tea sounds great right now.

BF is badly lactose intolerant and sometimes when he knows he messed up and ate somthing with dairy and will be sick anyway he goes the whole hog and eats a crap load of cream cake and things he likes but can''t have.

I shouldn''t have had the bloody milkshake thing but BF likes to live vicariously through my ability to consume small amounts of dairy without being violently ill so I couldn''t really say no

Getting sick from dairy is no fun.

I never had any problems when I was younger. Loved anything with cheese.
Then I moved out and couldn''t really afford cheese so went a couple of years with no dairy.

After that I''ve had problems. Much better than it had been (yay) but I still have to watch it. I can manage two small slices of pizza or a SMALL scoop of icecream without having any issues.

An interesting thing your BF might want to try is eating different types of cheese in different types of dishes. There are some cheeses that affect me less than others. Also the way it is cooked (or not cooked) and what is served as part of the dish and to the side.
(green salad before cheese helps, something acidid - wine or lemonade - helps)

I found the stuff that didn''t make me as sick and ate just little bits of it on occasion. My body seems to be re-adjusting to cheese and I''m almost to where I can eat a meal with dairy in it (reasonable portions) and not get sick.

One allergies expert that was on TV said that people who are lactose intollerant can eat cheese. I think that's BS, I know SOME people who are lactose intolerant can eat small amounts of some cheeses whithout being ill but I don't know any of them who can eat much of it and be ok.

BF can eat buffalo cheese and soycheese but that's it. He is mega super uber lactose intollerant though, if he eats a sandwich and the bread has whey powerder in it he'll be ill. We read everything that comes in a packet, even if the last ingredieant is milk then he can't have it. He never used to be lactose intollerant untill a few years ago, he used to eat ALOT of dairy tho so I think his body just gave up being able to process it. Poor guy, he misses icecream desperatly.

Feeling alot better now, ty for your suggestions everyone. I might still hold off on eating anything untill I feel really hungry. I''m never hungry when I get sick, haven''t eaten since 6:30 last night and it''s almost midday....and I did 3 hours of lazer tag exersize, which was not super fun when I was full of thickshake.

Do you have So Delicious in your area?

I''m not a fan of most soy icecreams, but this one is quite good. I''ve served it at dinner parties and had people ask to see the package because they didn''t believe it was non-dairy.

Their mocha almond fudge is yummy.
Or just plain vanilla with some fresh fruit...

One allergies expert that was on TV said that people who are lactose intollerant can eat cheese. I think that''s BS, I know SOME people who are lactose intolerant can eat small amounts of some cheeses whithout being ill but I don''t know any of them who can eat much of it and be ok.

BF can eat buffalo cheese and soycheese but that''s it. He is mega super uber lactose intollerant though, if he eats a sandwich and the bread has whey powerder in it he''ll be ill. We read everything that comes in a packet, even if the last ingredieant is milk then he can''t have it. He never used to be lactose intollerant untill a few years ago, he used to eat ALOT of dairy tho so I think his body just gave up being able to process it. Poor guy, he misses icecream desperatly.

I''m not sure about that brand but we do have quite a few soy icecreams, one of which he likes. He hasn''t had it in a long time, I should remember to get it for him. Thanks for the reminder.
