Hi folks...um, i just wanted to check in. I read a couple of pages and now im feeling so nostalgic for my dissertation leisure. (JK!!!) I''ve been so busy I''ve barely touched the keyboard, but as long as I have a second...

UPDATES

So, wedding planning and move are in full swing. I think we nailed down all the details in...wait for it....about 10 days....! Seriously. Defended the dissertation on July 23, moving tomorrow. (ok, ok, thanks to elle i found a dress the week before, but all the rest...) We''ve managed to get everything booked and planned for Sept 5th. We even got the coolest photographers that have a whole section in their portfolio called "wear (trash) the dress" for all the photos you wish you could have taken. pics of brides and grooms in the surf in their wedding attire and the like. very cool.

I can''t believe it, and i got very grumpy yesterday trying to fit everything in, but as all the planning hurdles are falling away, im getting so HAPPY

Hope everyone has the greatest of weekends, and that something wonderful happens to each of you.

The haste is all a part of the marrying a foreigner thing. Well, marrying one and then moving out of state. Princesss, my arrival is scheduled for Tuesday am, but i think i''ll be falling into bed for about 2 days right after. lol.

Thanks ladies. My parents are pretty upset about the whole ordeal. It''s so sad that they have worked so hard on everything outside of the house and it now looks like a war zone.

But I agree, we are all ok.

The hail we got was golfball size...winds were crazy. Knocked the neighbor''s evergreen tree down. And that tree was HUGE. Split right in half and fell on the house then slid to the ground.

Its a campus building, used to be the women student''s union back when they kept the boys and girls separate. Now it houses a strange hodge podge of uses, part hotel, part food court, part meeting rooms...they have decent catering tho, which is nice. We''re doing a little champagne reception immediately post ceremony which can be pulled off with almost no effort on our part thanks to their catering. And the prices are quite reasonable I thought.

Well, we''re running a coach between Paesano''s where our dinner is and the league so folks can park at the restaurant. But we were complete idiots about scheduling around games. I mean...how long have I lived in this town????
