You're both lovely.. I do still love my "dark" sapphires as well as the deep blue sapphire earrings my son brought home when he came back home from Korea on Army leave.. Yes, this color is sentimental to me. I chose the color because it was one my hubby's birthstone and two, because I always loved the color sapphire in Diana's ring. I know this thread isn't about me, however, there are some who like that ring.. ♥

I think if you just consider the gesture of a loving fiance to the girl he wishes to marry, offering her his beloved mother's engagement ring as a sign of respect for her and in memory of his mother is quite a wonderful gesture. It also speaks well of the fiance that she embraces the gesture in the spirit it was intended. I wish them the best, despite the politics and paparazzi.

And for the record, I think of it more as a rich blue - and I'm sure it's more beautiful in person than in photographs.
