The Official TTC Thread!

thanks for all the compliments on the pictures.

Up until last christmas, I was a point and shoot kind of a gal. Then, I got an amazing camera and have really developed a love for photography. sort of teaching myself, learning as I go. it''s a necessary for a lawyer to have some sort of a creative outlet

plus, i love how this thread has always has fun little tangents - a good distraction to the TCC process!

Hi gals. I read this thread all the time, but rarely post cause I feel like I have nothing to add! Which is silly, I can always add my good wishes.

Lysser, InLuv- The sad thing is what got me out of lurkdom again- football! Not babies, but football! I too, am a screaming, cursing maniac when it comes to football (college for me). My DH is really into it as well, but last time said that he doesn''t know if he can watch with me anymore, b/c I get TOO into it. !?! What? He''s lucky I watch football with him!

I am actually cycle buddies with the big gang right now- at least I think so according to my last few cycles. No idea if/when I ovulated, but am on CD25 or CD26 right now, so expecting AF in the next day or two.

I guess I am going to have to start temping. Big sigh. I was hoping to avoid it but I can''t figure anything out CM wise so I have no idea when I ovulate. I have been avoiding it b/c I just didn''t want to get too obsessed and b/c I wasn''t sure DH was totally on board and didn''t want to freak him out with the details. I mean, he''s been on board in general, but until he really wants to try, I am not forcing all of this on him. But I think he''s pretty ready, so maybe I will start next month. We were around my cousin''s 4 month old baby this weekend and DH said ''As long as our kid is as cool as theirs, I want one.'' Ha! Luckily, his sisters'' had babies young and he has been around little babies and knows what he''s getting into.

Ebree- I think you said you don''t chart????? What do you do instead? Thanks!

To all those testing/waiting: Good luck! Fingers, arms, eyes, and legs crossed for you. Since I am clueless, I will take one for the team and NOT be preggo this cycle so the rest of you cycle buddies needs to step up. Come on babies!!!! I have a really good feeling this cycle that a few of us are KTFU and moving on!!!!
China- I agree, sometimes I don''t feel I have much to add either, but oh well. Also sometimes this thread moves quick! You DH is funny about wanting a cool kid- my DH says the same thing...must be a guy thing. I really hope you DON''T take one for the team and hope AFF doesn''t show in the next couple days. Lots of baby dust to you!

Lulu- Your pictures are A-MAZ-ING! You have real talent! Ok, so do you think that most lawyers are frustrated artists???? You and photography. Lysser and her jewelry. I am a secret wanna-be writer. What is up with that??????

I think a baby boom is about to happen on this thread, I can feel it.

You guys can hand over the reigns, we''ll be okay, really. As long as Dreamer and the rest of you pop back in and keep our heads in the right places!!!!

InLuv- It does move quickly! And I feel bad not mentioning everyone, but then I end up not posting. So I am trying to get better about it.
Is that you and your hubby in your avatar? Gorgeous couple! Seriously, you are going to have some pretty babies.

China- That is us in the avatar, thanks so much!

there could be something to your theory chinacat! and i, too, struggle with keeping my updates current. largely because of the reasons you mentioned - 1) often I don''t have much to add and 2) sometimes it''s hard to individually comment on all the ladies, so i opt to make no comment at all (though i really don''t think that people take offense, or at least i hope they don''t).

however, i''m enjoying my little pop-in today and will try to keep it up . . .

LL-- I know what you mean about being crazy during games! I''m the same way about my team (Not the Steelers, sorry but at least we''re in the same state. I''m an Eagles fan!) So sorry about you dreading your MIL''s visit. Hope you get through it alright. So since your say you are weak when it comes to POAS, when are you gonna test? At least Festy and I can live through you...
31.gif

Ditto - I was jumping and yelling at my TV on Sat. night during the Penn State vs Ohio State game!!! I''m a HUGE Penn State fan (also an alum) so, this game was MAJOR!

9 DPO

Blushing, I didn''t realize you were a nittany lion! Me too! When did you graduate? I graduated in fall 04. We were watching the game at our Halloween party. DH and 2 of his 4 siblings went to PSU. We were all going nuts. SIL and BIL were dressed as PSU cheerleaders.

Lulu, your pics are great!

Speaking of your jewelry, Lysser, have you ever posted pics of any of it on here?

Thanks for the costume compliments everyone! It was seriously the easiest costume I''ve ever done, and one of the cheapest too!

Wow, this thread has a lot of Penn people (at least in some way). My favorite co-worker is from PA and she's a hoot. I think highly of the state because of her. She's from Pittsburgh, adn she has some of the oddest sayings. Who knew there was such a thing as "Pittsburghese?" There is, and she's sure full of it. "Don't be a jag." She says that all the time. Cracks me up because for the longest time, none of us had a clue what she was talking about with that and the nebanoozer thing or whatever. Then someone found the Pittsburghese dictionary online. Now she makes sense. Mostly, anyway.

***
Lulu,

Awesome pictures. I really like the cowboy boots. Although, I have to ask; what is the first picture on the left, at the top? First thought: "Hmm... Popsicles. I want one!"
9.gif

***
Drk,

Thanks for checking in. Only the best wishes for you, lady!!

***
For the group of soon-to-be-testers: WhooHoo! I'm hoping all of you post the same day with a Positive. How cool would that be?
9.gif

***
No news on my end. No period. No nothing. I'm just sitting in limbo, I guess.

I''m hoping so, for all of us!!

But the oh so wise among us really need to pop in regularly, or else we''ll all be a lost bunch over-analyzing girls making up triphasic cycles and getting anxiety-ridden over what could have maybe been an ovulation dip, but maybe not. Haha. We need the sanity of the wise, stable among us.

So, yes, move on to the mommy thread but visit us still, pretty please!!

lulu, what kind of camera do you use? They are great pictures.

Thanks again for the compliments!

Ha! Fisher - those are *windchimes* made out of old gasoline tanks - very unique for sure!

Tacori: I have a canon rebel xti and I think it is amazing! The lens that I use most often is a Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM because I like for the *subject* of my picture to be in focus, but the background to be blurry - but there is a really selection of lenses that work with this camera. I also use a program called picnik to edit my pictures, but I''m sure that you''re a pro with photoshop - however, for a non-professional, picnik is a great, *free* editing tool!

Haha! I actually avoid photoshop if I can help it. Never got into it. InDesign is more my speed

I am thinking more and more in getting a nice camera. My neighbor just bought a Nikon (with 3 lenses, extra battery and flash) for $1,200. Not sure I want to make such a large investment.

Sorry for the threadjack...hope you all get your BFP soon!!! Good luck!

Tacori, I''ve used the rebel xti and the nikon d80 and I prefer the rebel xti. Granted, I''m a novice, but I felt like the rebel xti took better pictures and was easier to use. I have no idea what lense I was using with it since I was borrowing it from my wedding photographer.

Thanks Robbie. Off to see how much rebels run for. I took a few photography classes in art school but that was ages ago. I prefer something easy with a FAST shutter b/c the girl moves FAST.

Last shameless photography post of the evening - thanks for humoring me today ladies
35.gif

Tacori: i would recommend reading up on the various options that are available - there are numerous reviews and lots of information out there - I''m sure that you can find a camera that suits your family''s needs. I also know that my DH shopped around in order to get the best price.

I think that the investment is well worth capturing those memories - i''m attaching some pictures of my little nephew, who at this stage was a bit less mobile than tessa . . . - thanks for letting me share!!

lulu great pictures and what a cutie pie! I love fat babies
30.gif
. Did you tweak the colors to make them pop, or do you use a particular setting?

Fisher, how''s your temp this morning? Today''s the day your temp dropped and AFF showed up on your last chart.

Today''s temp was a drop.
7.gif

I rolled over and told Paul this morning and he gave me a monster hug (that''s the kind where he won''t let go even when I start to squirm away) and said that things will be fine, we''ll "get ''em" next time, and that we have faith that will lead us through. How right he is. We pray daily for our child, which may be odd since we don''t have one yet, but we will and we figure, why not start early? I used to be the initiater and I''d get eye rolls from Paul (much like this:
20.gif
) and now it''s become something we both do. It''s amazing how much you can love your child before you even have him living within, much less before you get to hold him in your arms.

Sunday was really my day of sadness, so I''m glad I did test on 13DPO. I think that will be my new "tradition" (here''s hoping it''s a SHORT tradition). Today I''m seeing as "WHOO HOO..." baby making time is getting near again.

If we get preggo in November (wouldn''t know until the first few days of December), we''ll still plan on telling everyone at Christmas time. I grew really fond of that idea and again, Paul says part of life is living in faith and not about waiting to see if the worst is about to come. He''s a wise person at 5:30am.
9.gif

Don''t be sad for me, ladies. My baby''s coming, and so is each of yours.

****

Can I just tell you that I really think all these testers right around Halloween are going to blow out a new little baby stampede? I''m excited for that. I''ll be away, but I hope to come back next Wednesday to lots of POSITIVES. (I''m predicting three before next Wednesday.)

Come on now, prove me right!!
9.gif

FF has given me 5 days of the VIP thing (to get me hooked, no doubt) and it says I timed my BD great. It says it was a triphasic chart, afterall.

Hmm. I wonder if VIP really would help, or just give me more stuff to think about. Haha. Like I need that!!

Awe, Fisher, ::hugs::. I was so sure this was your month with your triphasic chart. You have a really great attitude about the whole process. I forget, did you ever share what allowed you to find peace with the whole process? FF VIP doesn''t really help other than to give you more things to analyze during the 2ww (chart overlay feature, early symptom analyzer, etc) and give you access to the message boards. It can be helpful to have access to the VIP question board where you can post questions about your chart and have experts answer, but that''s kind of what we do here! Granted, we''re not all experts, but we do have DD
2.gif
.

Fisher I''m sorry honey! It will happen you are totally right. This was only the second month since that LOOOOONG cycle, so it hasn''t been long at all. Sometimes the stars just need to align! But you learned some more great things this month: You know your LP is 15 days! That is great! Onwards and upwards!

Granted, we''re not all experts, but we do have DD
2.gif
.
LOL!
3.gif
Such a bizarre thing to be an "expert" in... I must find a use for this newfound knowledge... I mean one where I make money, I love hanging out in PS TTC land and bugging every one!

re: VIP on FF... I liked it only for the message boards, which are fun, the preggo one is pretty cool too, but I didn''t renew the VIP membership after mine wore out. Could be worth getting, since both Indy and I got KTFU very soon after paying the membership fee
20.gif
Of course.

Good Morning!

Lulu-- Beautiful pictures again! You nephew is a cutiepie!

Fisher -- I''m so sorry for the temp drop.
15.gif
I so admire your outlook--I know your BFP is coming soon. It touched my heart to hear that you and you DH pray for your child already. Any child would be so blessed to have you two as parents.
1.gif

As for me...CD24/7DPO

Waiting sucks

Hi All!

First and foremost, Fisher you are such a wonderful, positive person who we are so fortunate to have on this thread! You and Paul sound like a solid team who can lean on each other when the going gets tough...after all, isn''t this what marriage is all about? I completely admire you and only wish you the best (with lots of baby dust). I agree with DD that this is only your second cycle since your long, wonky one. Hopefully now that things are becoming more regulated, next month will be your month!

Lovely - I could stare at your photos all day long! I took photojournalism in college (which I absolutely loved) and definitely think that I have an eye...but you my dear are talented...your pictures are stunning! I own two Nikon''s, but maybe my next camera should be the Canon Rebel XTI...hmmmm...

Robbie - I feel like I read somewhere else on here that you were a PSU alum. I''m a little older - graduated in ''99. We are actually heading up to Happy Valley for the Indiana game in two weeks!
36.gif
I love it there...my parents met there and my sister went there too. I guess you could say it''s a family thing.
2.gif

Well, I''m on CD 30/10 DPO and got a big rise today of almost .4 degrees. I''m still sticking with my plan of testing Friday because maybe my period is coming a little later this month since I ovulated later (on CD 20). I keep having dreams that I''m pregnant, but obviously I don''t want to get my hopes up. I''m interested to see what tomorrow''s temp brings.

Good luck to everyone else who is testing this week! To everyone else, baby dust, baby dust, baby dust!!!!!
36.gif

Fisher: I was really touched by your post this morning - it really articulated the way that I have been trying to feel about this process. "Don''t be sad for me, ladies. My baby''s coming, and so is each of yours." Such strong, true words. so thank you. and when your baby does come, he or she is going to have some pretty amazing parents!!

blushing:
36.gif
a temperature rise sounds promising!! is that something unique to this cycle? I hope that you are somewhat clairvoyant and those dreams are forshadowing some good news this friday

InLuv101: the waiting is the hardest part. when are you testing? good luck!

DD: I know that I feel pretty lucky to get all of your fertility wisdom free of charge

DPO 2
I feel the same way! I love getting all of DD's wisdom and knowledge!

Since I got an idea AFF was coming last cycle by way of falling temps, I'm not testing unless temps stay high through 14 DPO.

Good Morning All.

Robbie - You asked about whether I posted any of my jewelry - I have. I created a thread with a couple pieces a while ago. But I''ve done a decent amount of work since then. I''ll put together a few pics of some of my faves and post ''em.

Fisher - Your attitude and your DH are both wonderful! Upward and onward, right? But I am sorry about the temperature drop. Feh. As for the VIP...I like it. I agree with DD that the boards are nice, as is the VIP question section...

InLuv - The Eagles are my second favorite team...a friend of mine is DeSean Jackson''s cousin...so I''m all about rooting for a team when I have a slightly personal stake! Of course, when they play my Steelers, they are my least favorite team.
2.gif

BB - Yay for a temp rise! Awesome!!!! And I second lulu''s hope that the dreams are clairvoyant!!

Lulu - Those pics of your nephew are awesome. I''m very serious when I say you really have skill.

CC - Please keep on posting...I pretty much never have anything exciting (or possibly even interesting) to share...yet here I am...babbling away!!!

Festy - I''ll test tomorrow for sure! A bit of good news before the arrival of my inlaws would be a good thing! So here''s to hoping...but I know it is super early...I got a BFP on my m/c cycle at 12 DPO...SO I know I''m jumping the gun...but eh. I do not care!!! I am OUT OF CONTROL! heh.

CD 23, 9dpo (i will not POAS. I will not poas. I will NOT POAS!!!)

Alright, off to take a few pics of my pieces...

Fisher, I''m sorry about your temp drop but your attitude is so inspiring. We are all lucky to have you here cheering us on and helping us keep things in perspective. Your baby-to-be has no idea how lucky it is! And wow, that is quite a bold prediction! I hope the Halloween testers can prove you right.

Afraid I can''t join in on the college football tangent, as much as I love tangents. I went to a small Northeastern college whose Div. III football team won exactly once in the 4 years I was there!

LuLu, those pictures of your nephew are beautiful. His parents must love you!

Blushing, that sounds awfully promising. Care to post your chart? Friday seems so far away!

CD 24/9 DPO

I want some of you to test sooner! So much restraint! LOOOOOTS of people get BFPs at 10 dpo
27.gif

DD - I''m testing tomorrow!!! I''m doing what I can!
