The Official TTC Thread!

AMC ~ well I guess only time will tell hey? If you do end up being KU, does the cruise require a doctors note to state how far along you are or will you be able to say you are 2 weeks behind your actual date and play the 'oh I'm just carrying forward' excuse? I'll wish you good luck for which ever answer you are hoping for!

Thank you! They do require a doctor's note which has to state how far along you are. So we would either have to move the cruise up (which would be expensive since people would have to change their flights) or I could just go with the "I'm not pregnant, I'm fat" thing. I mean it's not like they are making women pee on a stick at the port, you know? Ha. But hopefully it won't be an issue.

Here's today's chart:

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Thanks for the warm welcome, ladies!

Bright: Your possible O date is quickly approaching! Fingers crossed you can get some sneaky, quiet BDing in while staying at your inlaws!

LC: Thanks for the welcome! I’m so excited for your little bean and will certainly be following your story as your pregnancy progresses. Congrats!

Mannequin: Ooooh… I love symptoms! ☺ I’m sending positive thoughts your way. I know that 2WW speculation can sometimes lead to disappointment, but the hopefulness that accompanies it is exciting.

MP: Any more symptoms? I think overanalyzing comes with the territory. Even if you don’t seek out symptoms or Google symptoms, I think it’s normal to subconsciously notice the “little” things that may/may not be happening.

Missy: Hi there! TCOYF certainly IS huge. What sticks are you using? Wondfo? Or just buying them from the drug/grocery store?

Claritek: !!! I totally understand your reasons for waiting, but I’m excited to see you on this thread! It seems like so many women from BWW are moving over here. (Which makes sense, I suppose). What BBT did you buy? No insight on painful nips. Hope that doesn’t last too long.

MP: Congrats on the interview, but sorry this is a bit stressful. Job stuff so often is. Keep us updated on what you decide to do. I wish that women did not have to constantly worry about this professional/personal balance when TTC.

Lizzy: I don’t know much about IVF and whether it’s the best option for you, but :HUGS:. I’ve followed your story on this thread and wish you nothing but the best. I can also understand why you want to give ‘au natural’ one more shot before moving forward with more time-consuming measures. Hoping the antibiotic yields some positive results.

Megumic: You should probably stop lurking and just pop on over… 5 months isn’t too far away ;)

HOT: Have fun with your BDing sessions! You seem like such a mellow mama and TTCer- I hope your attitude rubs off on me!

AMC: Holding my breath for you. How are you feeling, physically? Is it possible you’d see something at 10dpo if you P’dOAS… or is it still unlikely at this point? Keep us updated!

AFM: I'm on my way to the gyno in just a short while. They might do a pap & remove the IUD *or* just do the pap and schedule the removal for a few days later. Apparently my insurance may not cover both in one trip (which I disagree with and don't really understand...) I'm experiencing a bit of anxiety. One moment it seems like a good idea, the next I think I should keep it in a bit longer. BUT- I am looking forward to using FAM and charting temps & cm, and have faith that DH and I can use this method to abstain for as long as we feel is necessary.

Hello! I am using Wondfos...I'm not sure that I like them. The ones I got are sooo tiny, like an 1/8" wide! When I finally get a positive OPK I want it to be HUGE to match my excitement! Haha.

AFM, no AF or BFP. I'm not testing anymore this cycle unless I get some crazy symptoms! So far today, no cramps or bloating and I'm totally okay with that. I was getting tired of having them for no reason lol. I have been having more creamy/lotiony CM, which I've never had before, not sure what that could mean. I just want to stick my body in the corner and tell it not to come out until it straightens out!

This thread is hopping! Wow, lots going on.

I feel totally normal, physically. Other than some CM that seems a bit odd for this point in my cycle...but maybe it's always there and I'm just noticing because I am paying attention to it? TMI alert- I think it's what would be classified as lotiony, although it's slightly sticky and clear. Thoughts? A test could pick it up today, but I'm waiting until I'm late. Sorry ladies, you'll have to wait another week or so :) One thing that sucks (well, sucks now, but usually is nice) about my cycles is that I get no pre-AF warnings. I never get cramps until at least a few hours after she starts. So I won't even get an indication that it's starting until it does. Although I suppose I should get a temperature drop in the next couple of days? Charting experts- how far before AF does your temp normally drop?

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

amc, I'm no expert, but in my two BFN cycles, my temp started dropping after 8dpo (my LP was ~14 days). My BFP cycle, I had temp drops at 4 dpo and 7 dpo.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Lizzy, sorry you’re feeling down. You’ve got a lot to think about. It’s especially hard right now because so many great posters just got their BFPs, you know? I get why you might want to try it naturally again. Only you know if you can cope with the risk of another miscarriage, but actually, you would still have that risk if you tried IVF, wouldn’t you. Ugh, my thoughts are with you. You are going to get your second baby one way or another, I’m sure of it.

HOT, I hope you are able to sneak in a little bd’ing. I imagine it’s a bit harder to when you’ve got an older child.

PPM, hope your appointment goes well. Unbelievable about the insurance thing. Makes no sense whatsoever. TTC is a big step, so I understand the anxiety. You’ll know when it is the right time to throw caution to the wind.

amc, I think it depends on the person what your temps do before AF. Mine seemed to start a downward trend a couple days before AF, but I know others get a drop the day of and others after AF has already arrived. Hopefully you won’t have to worry about it, but if you are pregnant, your wedding and cruise will get sorted out. Not the end of the world.

Missy, hang in there. I know it must be frustrated not to know where you are in your cycle, but you will figure it out soon! CM tends to be a bit confusing, so it is not necessarily a reliable indicator of anything until you monitor it for awhile, well, unless you get EWCM. We all know what that means : )

For those who asked, I think I’m 7dpo, so still early. I have had a weird pain in my pelvis/hips (and am getting a few shooting pains) that I wish was a pregnancy sign, but I know it’s not because pregnancy would not cause such symptoms this early on, and it doesn’t feel like cramping. It's more of a ligament or joint issue. I’m guessing it is a combination of pushing a little too hard with my workout a couple days ago and not having good posture at work. But a girl can hope, right?

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Ladies with recent BFPs, I'm sorry to be so late congratulating you, but how AWESOME to see so many all at once! You are going to have such a fun group on the preggo thread  Good health and stickiness to all!

Amc, I just went and looked at my charts for the past 6 months and it looks like I tend to have a couple high temps after O day, then several days of lower temps (but still above the coverline), then they go back up for a couple days, then plunge the day before AF. A couple of my charts look exactly like implantation dips, now that I think of it, but I'm definitely not pregnant! So I don't think you should read too much into it for the time being...

PPM, I agree, that's ridiculous. I mean it would save them money but having it done in one appointment. Insurance companies are interesting some times...

Thank you! This was helpful. I think my mind is now going nuts and I'm starting to get psychosomatic symptoms. Like I had a cupcake for my mid-morning snack (OMG, I made amazing oreo cupcakes last night) and immediately felt a little barfy...that was an hour ago...and since then I've had wicked heartburn. Yeah, probably a complete coincidence, I know. And I logically know I have (probably)nothing to worry about. But that other part of my brain is going at 100MPH. The next week is going to be looooong.

My IUD is officially out. My CNP was like, "We should just take it out. There's no reason to reschedule!" She's an older woman, in her mid 60's, and was really excited for me and uplifting. She gave me a huge hug before I left. At least someone thinks my TTC is a good idea, because I'm not always convinced!

Congrats on the IUD removal! Yay!
Here is the basic recipe I used. I made quite a few changes, including making the frosting cream cheese based. Yummy.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Oh, but warning- the cupcakes may cause nausea and heartburn.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

AMC - I just drooled. Heartburn aside, those look awesome, nice work! Hope you see AF soon...

PPM - Good to hear you are IUD free and ready to go! I am glad they were able to do everything all in one visit. Insurance requirements are stupid.

Hi Clairitek! :wavey: Welcome to Pee Stick Land!

AFM, O'd last Monday so today is 9DPO. POAS and had no results. This was on one of my pink ended Wondfos I got in my Amazon order. According to Wondfo's website, these tests have a sensitivity of 25 miu. So I am not preggo, or not preggo enough to show up on a test yet.

I still have the "metal mouth" thing going on - this is since Monday night and does not go away with brushing or eating or drinking. Annoying! I am having CM anywhere from creamy to EW. Nips are a little sore, but not ridiculously painful. My lower abdomen felt the same way it does when I am PMSing on Monday. That has faded a bit, but I still feel... heavy? Not sure how to describe it. Today is CD30 for me - yikes, long one - and FF does not predict a visit from AF until Tuesday next week. Will try one of my CB or EPT tests tomorrow with FMU and report back.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

AMC- Those cupcakes look amazing!

MQ- I hear you. I'm on CD33...yay!

Afm, still waiting for something to happen.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

MQ & Missy, hoping you guys have some BFP action! Doing an eagle pose for you two!

Pilsn, Glad you got the IUD out. Your CNP sounds like such a sweet lady, that she's so excited for you.

AMC, keep us posted what's going on. Those cuppies look fantastic.

Octavia, how long have you been charting. I actually found charting kinda fun. In a dorky-geeky-kinda-way.

HOT, that's kinda annoying that docs make you wait for no good reason except, "You're supposed to." I hope you and your DH can get some BD action in. 12 hr shifts  THat's crazy! Hope you and your DD have fun at the concert. That's so nice of you to take your daughter. I was never one of the "cool kids" that went to concerts. I actually didn't start listening to pop music until high school. I was such a dork growing up...

~LC

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

BFN this morning with a Wondfo and a Clearblue Easy HPT (25 miu). The metal mouth persists and I still have the pre-period feeling going on. If I don't get AF today (CD 31 here), I will test again tomorrow with one of my EPT tests.

LC, I started charting at the end of December when I went off HBC. I think it's kinda fun, too -- it's intriguing to see how the body works (and reassuring to know that it does!). I do worry I won't be able to step back and relax when we actually start trying, though.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

MQ, it's still early. You're only about 10dpo, right? Is it your first month off BC or do you know how long your luteal phase is? I hope the metallic taste thing is a good sign and you get your BFP. After writing that, I feel like I have a metallic taste in my mouth too. Like when somebody mentions lice and your head starts itching :) Good luck!

amc and Missy, any news from either of you? Tempted to test? :naughty:

PPN, congrats on getting your IUD out. That's a big step!

Lizzy, how are you doing? Did AF show yet?

Ally, hope your vacation is going well! Still crossing fingers for some good news from you!

Hot, did you find any time to BD? Hope you're doing well!

afm, nothing new on the TWW front. No symptoms whatsoever. Except now I'm imagining a metallic taste - thanks a lot MQ :) Gosh, I'm a freak. Anyway, I decided to go forward with the interview process to find out more about the position and if nothing else to get some fresh interviewing experience. My husband's friend said it would be a great company to work for with really reasonable hours and low stress (possibly too low stress for me), so now I just need to find out if the position is something that I would be interested in and whether I would still be using my law degree on a regular basis.

Hi to anyone I missed!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

MP - Got the spoon in mouth thing going on now, too, huh? Monkey see, Monkey do! LOL! Yes, I am still really early (9 or 10DPO). I am not sure how long my LP is yet. I tracked periods since coming off BC, but I do not clearly remember any O signs in those cycles that would indicate when the LP should start. I was going through a layoff in my school district right before this cycle began, and it made my last cycle 37 days! Good luck with the interviewing process. =)

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Isn't it beautiful? I know, not out of the woods, but that downturn makes me feel much better-

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Back to crampy and bloated. I keep thinking AF is coming but nothing!! I have had the urge to test and gave in...4 BFNs so far. Sheesh! I'm not wasting any more until I get more symptoms and that's that! :)) Having to work at the place I work is not helping my cycle straighten itself out that's for sure!!!

Claritek: !!! I totally understand your reasons for waiting, but I’m excited to see you on this thread! It seems like so many women from BWW are moving over here. (Which makes sense, I suppose). What BBT did you buy? No insight on painful nips. Hope that doesn’t last too long.

Nice to see you over here, too! I am happy to be TTCing in the future with some familiar faces!

I bought one that is called (funnily enough) BD. It was about $8.50 on Amazon. I actually did use it the last two mornings and my temps were reading much higher (98ish). I entered that data into FF just to see what it would do and of course after two days of elevated temps FF thinks I ovulated on CD21 when I'm fairly certain due to any CM production at all AND left side dull achey cramps that I O'd a week ago. AND based on what you guys have told me about sore nipples they were at their worst a week ago as well. The sensitivity has subsided and now I am on to pre-AF boob pain. NEXT cycle (which I think will start on Sunday/Monday as Im starting to feel the signs of AF coming in a day or two) I will use the accurate thermometer the whole cycle and see how we do.

Made my appointment with an all female Ob/Gyn practice that came highly recommended online for July 21. I specifically asked to be put with someone who does delivery (I guess not all of them are into obstetrics) in the case that we get along well and I decide to use her for my pregnancy.

MP- Good luck with the next phase of your interview. I hope the position is something that you're interested in!

MQ- Sorry about the BFN but it is early, right? It ain't over until the red lady sings.

HOT- Have a great time seeing Miley Cyrus with your DD and good luck getting the BD time in with DH!

AMC- That cupcake looks delicious. I'm never creative with baking desserts. I am more into breads (and am currently baking my way through The Bread Bible cookbook).

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

:wavey: Hi Ladies! I'm back (with a nice tan  ) from a relaxing and super fun vacation in Hawaii.

Lots of activity going on here! I love it!

First off, Dreamer, CONGRATS on your new bundle of joy!! Ryder is too cute for words! I love his name too! He does look like the mirror image of Hunter. Hope having 2 little ones are going well for you. I look forward to the day that I will be asking you for advice on having 2 little ones.

MQ: Buddha is so huggable! And what a cute name! I've heard that having a metallic taste is a pregnancy symptom so hoping it is a good sign for you! Sorry for the neg HPT but 9DPO is still really really early! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Missy: Boo on the negatives. Definitely get some of the smiley OPKs - it will definitely put a smile on your face when you see it  Have you had any other CM? If you're just getting creamy CM now, and getting some EWCM, then you might be gearing up to O.

HOT: I love your attitude about TTC! I'm starting to take a more zen and relaxed approach now as well. Hope timing is great for this cycle. Can't wait to cheer you on in the TWW!

AMC: Love the puppy pictures! Sorry to chime in late about the temp drop - my LP is 14 days and usually drops on day 13. It is different for everyone though. I hope you get the results that you want. It sounds like you're okay with either a pos or neg. Re: the cruise - could your dr write a note saying that you are okay to go on the cruise? Does the cruise line have a strict policy on the cut-off time period for pregnant women? Yummy cupcake! Thanks for posting the recipe. I'm going to give it a try.

Monkey: I'm glad you're continuing with the interview process. Like you said, it doesn't hurt to find out more and to gain some more interview experience. Good luck and hope it is something great for you!! No symptoms may be a good thing! I had no symptoms whatsoever when I got pregnant with DD. I just had a high temp on 12DPO and figured I should test. I'm hoping this cycle is it for you! When are you planning on testing?

Bright: Welcome! I hope your cycles get straightened out soon! Have you been tracking CM also? I started using OPKs last cycle and I find that they are making me more stressed out (especially since I have such long cycles) and I've since become a POAS-aholic :nono: Anyways, hope your stay here is sweet and short!

Pilsn (PPM): Welcome to you also! August is only a month away! I hope your stay here is also sweet and short! Yay for IUD removal!

Lizzy: Yay for a relaxing vacation! I can't believe the month has already gone by. I really hope this cycle gives you the answers you need to make a decision that's right for you and your family. I know how you feel about wanting things to happen naturally. I've always had super long cycles and feel that I was really lucky to get pregnant with my daughter. Part of my hesitation with calling my dr is that he will prescribe Clomid so that I will ovulate earlier. I want to see if I can get pregnant naturally again also. IVF is a big step and seems like such an emotional and physically draining process (injections and egg retrieval). Definitely wait until you have all the test results and then follow your heart. You have great instincts, so listen to them!

Claritek: The BBT will give you much better information. I just use a BBT I bought from Target. Mine beeps when I first turn it on and then when it's done. The beeping sound is annoying though but luckily DH is a deep sleeper so it doesn't bother him. Did your temps get higher? Are you charting CM as well?

Hello to Megumic and Octavia - hope you ladies join us soon!

Katy, LC and NEL: Hope you ladies and your little beans are doing well! Thanks for checking in on us and cheering us on!

Yep, strict cut off. As in they won't let you board and you don't get a refund. It's a liability issue, since 24 weeks is viability and they obviously don't have a NICU on board. Even with a doctor's okay it doesn't matter, you have to be under 24 weeks. As much as I want to be pregnant and want a baby, it really will be a stress relief if we make it through this month. After this month any "whoopsies" wouldn't be an issue. I know my temp drop wasn't huge and it definitely isn't near the cover line...but it is better than no drop at all...right? RIGHT?

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

AFM: I am on CD48, yes CD48!! I thought I was in the 2WW but my supposed "O" and "post-O temps" just seemed really off and not the norm. My temps never reached the low 98s like it usually does and hovered around the high 97s. I started getting EWCM on Sunday and thought nothing of it, but then had it for 3 straight days. We got home last night and I tested with an OPK and had an almost positive (neg smiley) and with my temp rise to 98 today, I'm thinking yesterday was O day. My temps the next few days will give a clearer picture. We are going to use protection for the next 2 weeks and if I don't get AF or BFP, then I'm going to call the dr to jump start AF or do some testing. I was really ready for this cycle to end one way or another. I thought I would feel overly anxious or upset that I would have to wait a little longer but Hawaii just seemed to give me a more relaxed attitude. I have faith I will get pregnant one day. For some reason, I don't have that urgency or rush to get pregnant right away like I felt a week or so ago. Hawaii seemed to cure the anxieties from TTC. Hehe. :cheeky:

So that's my update. Sorry I didn't bring back a BFP from Hawaii. Wouldn't that have been a special gift to bring back!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Ally, yay you're back! Glad you had such a nice time in Hawaii and were able to relax and de-stress. Sorry to hear about your confusing long cycle and that you didn't ovulate even after all of those dark OPKs. I'm glad to hear you aren't too upset about it. You will have a baby when the time is right. I keep trying to tell myself that, and I think it is working. I really don't feel as desperate this time around and am okay with waiting until my appointment in September to see if something is up.

amc, you're right you still have a ways to go before you're below the coverline. Hopefully today's temp was the start of the trend for you.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

AMC: I hope the temps continue on a downward trend for you! Your wedding cruise sounds like a lot of fun so I hope you can continue to keep plans the way they are.

MP: I'm hoping a more relaxed approach will put us on the path to get that BFP! I'm glad work is getting better for you. Hope it continues to stay that way!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Welcome back Ally! Sorry no vacation BFP for you :(( I think I need a vacation too, but ours isn't til August! We're going to Myrtle Beach for the first time. Nope no EWCM for me just creamy, like lotion mixed with water. Gotta love the descriptions for CM!! I may invest in some smiley OPKs if I need to!

I finally told my Mom today that we're TTC. I was having a slight meltdown about work and vented on Facebook and she probably thought I was a crazy person...so I told her what was going on and why I was a little more emotional than usual. She told me she's glad we're trying to have a baby  and that she got pregnant with ME the next month off BC! She was on BC for 10 years also like me. Then she said Mikala (my niece) will almost be old enough to babysit next summer if I do get pregnant. We shall see about that, she's only 8!!! Haha. But I think my mom is excited and thinking about the future. That just totally made my crappy day so much better!!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Hey amc, just delurking to ask what happened with your temps after that drop on 8 dpo....

Missy - how nice that your mom is excited for you! It's great to have that type of support when TTC. :))

<delurking>

AMC! I did a wedding cruise too :wavey: I distinctly remember that stretch of time between when people started booking airfare/hotels, etc, and when I could safely have an "oops" and be under 24 weeks for the wedding. Such a stressful period! I was nearly to the point that I wouldn't allow any DTD

Good luck! I hope you get the news you're wishing for.
