Thanks for posting! I grew up in the DC area and my grandma use to take me to the smithsonian frequently when I was growing up. Guess which exhibit she would take me too first when we were at that museum? The gems! Hmmm, maby its her fault I like jewerly so much . She tought me from a very early age

Thank you that was FABULOUS! One of the things I miss most about DC is bling browsing at the Smithsonian. Josephine''s pieces are my favorite-- unless I''m completely wrong.. that was her tiara. I LOVE turquoise and diamonds.

Absolutely. Photos don''t do it justice. I remember as a kid not understanding how the hope diamond could be blue. The display there is so amazing.

Wow, thanks for that walk down memory lane Alexis. I''m pleased to see that they have not been able to buff out the fingernail scratches I left on some of the display cases during my last visit.

LOL!! Don''t feel bad, I''m sure they had to do some type of floor replacement due to drool water damage when I was there!...LOL

Hahahaaaa....hopefully this summer i''ll get there and the scratches will be a lot deeper....and they''ll have to wipe the cases after i drool all over them like a st. bernard.
