Even if you change your SN, all your old posts where people quoted your old screen name and the user info page will still be under your old SN. So if they did a user search for your old SN, it'd still come up. Just FYI.

I'm thinking i'll leave my laptop on so he can SEE my login name (im usually trying to be super stealthy), so if he searches, he will search my NEW name...which will hopefully show nothing from my OLD name?? LOL

Honestly? I wouldn't worry about it. Why hide your posts from your SO? And, what crazy SO would search your username then go through every single post, line by line?

@madelise: my ex a long long time ago (6 year relationship, ended 3 years ago) always went through everything i had, phones, email etc...very toxic bad relationship. My SO could careless what i write or who i talk to or really anything for that matter, but i am extremely private with some things because of the past. And a little paranoid i suppose, because my ex nitpicked everything i ever did I finally just recently took a password off my phone for the first time! But it's unfair to me for pushing something someone else did to me on my wonderful SO, so redsoxgrl is here to stay!

And I totally understand about your ex-bf situation.
I also had a long term relationship with a LOSER and I sometimes feel guilty when my defense mechanisms turn on with my current SO. He is NOTHING like him, so I know it's not fair. But when you have been with that other person so long, it's hard to break out of it and feel totally comfortable. So, I feel you.

My SO knows my screenname but knows hes FORBIDDEN to look me up on here - I told him its my private place where I get to have private (super-public) thoughts. Sometimes he looks over and says "whatcha doing over there LJL?" and i say "naughty things!!" which means I'm looking at pricey baubles mostly.
