and TSAVORITE GARNET RINGS!!!

I never made an official thread on it... but back in October I purchased a 5mm tsavorite garnet from Gene at Precision Gem and I finally got it set last week. So get ready for the pics! First up... the tsav''s glamour shot. The stats...

Gem 937 - Tsavorite Garnet - 0.88 ct. A very pretty tsavorite from Tanzania, near the Kenyan boarder. This stone is cut in a square emerald type step cut. Here''s a chance to own a tsavorite with out paying an arm and a leg for it. Measures 5.16 mm

Color: 8
Clarity: 9
Brilliance: 4

Total Quality Rating: 8.3

Sometimes you get a really cool picture of the faceting.

Side profile... the twists go all the way around with only a couple mm''s left plain at the bottom for sizing.

A little sparkle, this is just a bit darker than the stone appears IRL

Almost done! You tired yet? This is pretty much the color I see... Gene''s photos is pretty accurate. Hangin'' out on a yellow flower.

Last one! A hand-shot with the e-ring since I had trouble keeping the camera still.

RFT,

Beautiful ring, it compliments your lovely stone perfectly. Where did you get the setting? I love it!!

Ah... knew I would forget something! The ring is from Solomon Brothers in Atlanta. They're really great. They're also the ones who are fixing my cuprian ring. And thanks, I can't stop staring at it!

Oh and the setting is a size 5 for size reference

beautiful ring and setting! I love the twisted shank!!! Gorgeous!

That's drop-dead gorgeous!!! One question...do you think the V-prongs are secure with your stone's clipped corners? Just something I would worry about if I had a stone set that way.

ETA: I really like it in the white gold, by the way!

It''s beautiful!! I have one of Gene''s tsavorites, too. He does fabulous work to bring out the best in the stone.

beautiful shade of green and fabulous faceting! :) it''s lovely!

Oh, the stone is gorgeous and I LOVE the setting! What an interesting swirly shank! No surprise that you can''t stop staring at your new ring!

I love the photos. Brings out the beautiful color of the stone!

I love the cutting on the stone and that''s a really beautiful setting!

Really beautiful! The stone and the setting go so well together, and usually I''m not crazy about step cuts with halo''s.

Very nice setting and it gives the tsavorite a lot of presence too.

I love it! I was wondering who got that tsav..

It''s gorgeous!! Gorgeous stone and gorgeous setting!!!

Amazing. I really like the colour of the garnet. The ring has a great design too.

Really beautiful. Love the bright green and the setting is amazing especially since I am not a big halo fan. I can see why you can''t stop looking at it as it almost demands your attention.
