Hello Everyone!!

I''m not too sure if this thread will be of intrest to everyone or bore them... but I thought I''d give it a try anyways!

I thought it would be a cool idea to have a thread where all of us ladies (and fellows!) could share some of our favorite products! Whether it''s our fav cleaning, beauty, pet, (etc) product! I''d like to share some things I''ve grown to love and would enjoy hearing about the products that all of you can''t live without!

(I wasn''t sure if this topic would violate some ''Terms of agreement'', so out of respect for Pricescope I contacted the administrator first to get the go a-head!)

First on my list is a product that may be the only item that''s featured on TV and actually lives up to it''s promises... well at least most of them!

1.) The Ped Egg! I swear, I thought ''how can that thing be diffrent than any other pedicure tool?'' But then I started getting all these rav reviews from my friends about it and had to give it a try. Boy, I''m glad I did! This thing is great! It works wonderfuly and so quickly! Much better than anything simiular I have tried in the past! I was truely impressed and the best part is it''s only around $10.00!! The only downfall I''ve found is that while it claims to hold all the guck neatly in the bottom half of the "egg", it dosn''t unless extremely careful, so I''d advice useing over a towel or shower/tub!

I give it 4 out of 5 smileys

Second on my list...

2.) Generic Value Products - Smoothing Serum it is Compared to "Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum". This hair serum is amazing! I have pretty thick, wavy hair, I use a straightening iron on my hair almost every day. Needless to say with straightening and coloring my hair tends to be very dry. You put this stuff on your hair wet/damp. It''s very oily feeling, and at first I was afraid it would leave my hair looking wet/greasy, NOT AT ALL! And I use ALOT! I mean about half a handful at a time. I just smooth it all over my hair, then brush threw it. It also reduces drying time, and makes it alot easier and quicker to straighten your hair! Once I''m done my hair is so soft and smooth, I LOVE IT! My SO even said "Wow your hair looks so healthy!" the first time I used it, and I''m pretty sure he wouldn''t even notice if I dyed my entire body PINK!! It smells GREAT too! I get it from Sally Beauty Supply, it''s $7.99 for a 8 oz bottle. I''ve never tried the Paul Mitchell brand itself, but I''m sure it works just as great!

I give it 5 out of 5 smileys

3.) Also from Sally''s: My Spots are Consealed Coverstick I find to be a great cover up! It spreads very smoothy and nicely on the face and does a pretty decent job of concealing imperfections! It''s only $4.99. However it does have a couple downfalls... first of all sometimes the stick is a little drier than others, when it''s drier it''s harder to spread, but most of the time it''s not like this. Secondly, there''s only three shades, Light, Medium, and Dark. So it''s rather difficult to get a perfect match. I buy what''s closest to my skin tone then just set it with some powder.

I give it 3 out of 5 smileys

4.) Okay, so this Natural White 5 Minute Tooth Whitening System works pretty great as well! I don''t know how many of you have "Dollar Tree" dollar stores around you, but that is where I found it. It comes with a tube of whitening gel and a reuseable tray for your front top and bottom teeth. It says to leave on for 5 minutes, but I''ve always left the tray in for the duration of my shower (abt 15 min) (this time peridod works for me but not recommending it for everyone) and I notice a difference after one application! I couldn''t (and still can''t) believe this product comes from a dollar store, for only... yes... $1.00!! The whitening gel lasts for many applications as well.

I give it 5 out of 5 smileys

Lastly...

5.) I can''t get enough of Victoria''s Secret Body Butter. I can''t really vouch on how well it does for moisturizing, as I normaly prefer products with no scent for that, but this stuff makes my skin as soft as velvet!!! There''s many diffrent scents to choose from and the butter itself is so soft, light, and creamy!! It''s perfect when you want to feel extra pretty!! It''s about $10.00 at Victroia''s Secret, but u can get it on killer sales alot of times, like 6 for $35.00! That''s when I stock up!!

I took the liberty of taking pictures of all the products I talked about (I know I''m a dork!), in case anyone was interested in trying them out for themselves! Please excuse the sorry excuse for a collage!

So... now I told you all my favorites, what are some of yours?!?!

likes3453.jpg

man I have been wanting to get that ped egg thing for a while, but didnt know anyone who had used it...glad you posted so now I know I can go get it.. Anyone try to Kinoki foot pads (they are supposed to release all the toxins or whatever in your system?!?!)

1. Bioton.. can be bought from your supermarket in the vitamin area... I take it for my hair and nails, and BOY let me tell you how FAST my hair has grown and my nails are super amazing, they are super strong and long and pretty.. I used to have fake nails and took them off because they were getting expensive and annoying to keep up..and wow they have never looked better... and my hair...seriously growing so fast.. my FF cant believe it :-)

2. Fibre lash mascara from Mac... seriously makes your lashes look long, thick, and amazing.. been using it for about 4 years now :-)

and Ill have to think of some more....

HA!! Thanks so much for the PedEgg review! I was so curious about that one!

For starters, LOL@the ped egg. Every single time FI and I pass by one, he says “I want that” but then never wants to buy it.

1. Viva Paper Towels. I cannot live without them and I will not buy any other brand. I don’t care how high gas goes up. It really does get the job done using one napkin. It’s super absorbent and durable. I use one towel to clean our ceiling fans and it works wonders.

I give it 5 smileys!

2. Swiffer Vac. I think that’s the name of it. Can I say awesome?? It comes with the wet swiffer towels and it’s a vacuum. I love to use it in the kitchen because I’m sweeping and mopping at the same time. Plus it’s really small so it fits anywhere (I keep it in a little space between the fridge and the wall. It’s also cordless so you can go anywhere with it. The only problem with it is that if you have a really big house (we have a small place), it runs out of juice and you have to recharge.

4 out of 5

3. Bialleti easy café 6 cup percolator. I am a huge coffee drinker and I’m also a coffee snob. I don’t do drip down, only percolators. A lot of people love the “espresso machines” but I can taste the difference between that and a percolator. For those wondering about the difference, a drip down well drips down into the container whereas a percolator rises. In a percolator the water has to push through the coffee in order to get out so the coffee comes out much stronger and flavorful. The one I have at home is electric because our dumb stove keeps burning the stovetop. But if you have a good stovetop, you can find a percolator for about $15. The electrical cost me about $45 but can go as high as $150.

For coffee lovers, 5 out of 5.

4. Clearasil. Yup, you heard me right. I’m 26, I use Clearasil, and I’m dang proud of it. I used to have huge acne problems back as a teen and got teased constantly. I did everything…proactive, wannabe proactive, Mary K, Avon, dermatologists. Nothing worked. So I decided to use Clearasil and not anything else because it was getting expensive. It took about 3 months to start noticing a difference and then a year before my acne was all gone. Now, I won’t use anything else on my face

Not going to rate this product because its more of a personal product.

5. The Magic Bullet!!!!!!!!! We have made everything under the sun with it but the best use is salsa! My honey makes this awesome dipping salsa for chips and the best part is that we get to keep it right in the glass. It’s super small and works just like a blender!!

Anyone try to Kinoki foot pads (they are supposed to release all the toxins or whatever in your system?!?!)

I ALMOST bought them but then one of the news channels did a ''does it really work?'' segment and they reported that there is nothing that proves that the black color is actually your body''s toxins. I wish they did work, but don''t think it''s anything to spend money on...

LOL- this is is FUN!

I swear by the ped egg! The only thing is be careful how much you use it... it works so fast that if you do it a little too long you''ll have sore heels!! I''m sure you wonl''t be dissipointed!

Blondebunny - I''ll definatly have to try thos vitamins! My nails SUCK! They are so thin and are always breaking, most of the time I wear fake ones as well! My hair also gets on my nervs because it seems it gets to a certain length then stops growing, esp. in the front, so those are DEF. going on my list!! Thanks!

Fieryred- I too love the swifer vac! It''s so much easier than dragging out the huge vacuum. However, while it''s convient that it''s cordless, I don''t like remembering to keep it charged... I always forget
7.gif
so I def. agree with the running out of juice comment! Eventhough my home is small as well. The coffee thing seems interesting as well. SO is an avid coffee drinker so when he officaly moves in we decided we must get a bigger coffee machine, however I was leaning towards just a regular one with a timer so it will be ready for him in the am. Something to think about tho I never knew the diffrence!! Clearisle huh? I have some acne problems here and there, and have proactive.. it seems to work when i stick to it for long enough, maybe I''ll give clearisle that a try! It''s funny you bring up the magic bullet! I was wondering who would be the first to do that! I have the magic bullet, but have mixed reviews.. sometimes I love it, sometimes I hate it! Mine acts up and will stop working for hours, sometimes in the middle of making something, this frustrates me! But I have noticed it''s good for making humus and slushy drinks! Looks like we have quite simulare shopping tastes!

I forgot to mention about the Kinoki Foot pads.... everytime I see these I almost buy them, esp. since they''re at Walmart now! I have no idea if they really work... but a friend of SO''s did tell a story that he had something in his system W**D (fill in the blanks)
38.gif
and had to take a drug test and those things susposedly took all the evidence out of his system... and he passed the test. I don''t know much about drugs so I have no idea if this could be true or if it''s straight BS.

Don''t get me wrong, I did NOT want them for that purpose!!! lol.

A few of my favorite things

1. Mazda CX-9 GT...My DH bought me this as my birthday gift, and I love-love-love it! It has everything...nav, bluetooth, three rows of seating, ipod hook up, rain sensor wiper blades, power lift rear gate, ect...and it looks sporty too! Anyone looking to get into the Crossover market, this is THE one!! Fully loaded, just under 45k.

2. Fresh brand Body Lotion...super great lotion. Absorbs quickly, leaves skin feeling very silky. Absolutely not greasy, or sticky and it doesn''t do that weird sloughing thing some lotions do. 35.00 for a bottle

3. Bath and Body Works brand Shampoo and Condition... As a hairstylist, I never thought I''d like (or recommend) an OTC shamp and cond...but I LOVE this brand, big time. The scents are wonderful...lime verbana, orange, cherry blossum, pineapple...and they actually stay with the hair which is great! It keeps the hair very nourished...no over drying, fading of color, or limpness. Often 2 for $10.00

4. Chi brand Flat Iron and Hair Dryer...Expensive, but worth it. I have actually had my dryer and iron for going on 5 years without issue! The heat on the ceramic iron is very even. The thinner shaft is great for getting ultra close to the root. The dryer has an easy access lint trap...very quiet...and drys quickly (most heads of hair in under 10 minutes!). Iron 100.00 w/ cosmo license...150.00 w/o. Dryer 100.00 w/ cosmo license...150.00 w/o

I use a Sedu but I LOVE Chi Silk Infusion and will not straighten my hair without it! It leaves your hair so soft and silky...everyone whom I''ve had tried it has noticed a difference and gotten some for themselves.

I also LOVE my Pure Beech jersey and sateen sheets from BBB...I hate the feeling of regular sheets, regardless of the thread count (plus I''m not going to spend thousands on sheets), and these are AMAZING. Several friends have been turned on to these by me as well.

My sister uses the PedEgg and loves it! lol

I recently bought a Garmin nuvi 650 and it worked wonders for my roadtrip to NY. It gets you where you are going, but also gives you the address and PHONE NUMBERS of places you might need to find along the way (i.e. gas station, restaurants, etc.).

Also just bought a Canon SD1100IS and have taken the most beautiful pics. I am not a hardcore photographer and just needed a point and click and the image stabilization has been a lifesaver.

butter LONDON : They are a 3 Free (non-toxic) nail care company. I''m obsessed with their stuff! They have the best colors. Seriously, check them out on their website. www.butterlondon.com

Green Tea Lemondae from Starbucks : Ok, so this has been my "summer" drink for the past couple of years.. but I just re-fell in love with it

AAAAAAHHH!!!!

Please tell me if I''m overusing the PedEgg! But I loved it immediately when I first used it... was a total convert. Hehehehe. I even had my mom and FI use it!

Well, it ruined all of our heels! Maybe we used it too hard?

But it caused our heel epidermis to grow back harder and faster (like the body''s defense mechanism is to form big callouses)...

So that is our sad story.

Anyone else out there like it? Our heels are very thick now because of them! I am hoping after a few pedicures, it will go away but it was dramatic.

1) Marcell gel eye makeup remover - very cooling and refreshing.

2) Clean and Clear facewash with benzyl peroxide - Best acne face wash ever...

3) Christian Dior''s Diorshow mascara... - super volume and length ...

4) ABBA shapoo and conditioner - all natural, smells amazing and not tested on animals!

omg i LOVE those!!!! i had all through college my favorite sheets ever!!

Wow, maybe on second thought this thread was a bad idea... it makes me wanna go shopping!

So many interesting things!

Italinhaircolor- Bath and body works shampoo? Interesting, I didn''t even know they made any! Is it good for dry hair? I''ve been looking for a shampoo that adds alot of moisture but can''t seem to find it. Right now I''m trying Bed Head Moisture Maniac. I dunoo how I feel about it. People have told me it''s wonderful but so far I see nothing to valid paying $35.00 for a bottle of shampoo and conditoner! I''ve only been useing it two weeks however, maybe I''ll decide to like it. I have a SOLIA (sp?) flat iron, I''ve had two, I like them best out of all straightners I''ve tried but havn''t tried CHI yet.

Indygirl- Those sheets sound great! There''s nothing better than climbing into a bed with new fresh sheets!!! I''ll have to have a look see!

Sred- You weren''t lieing, those polishes look like so much fun!!

Bliss- Hmmm.. that dosn''t sound like fun
7.gif
I havn''t experianced anything like this with my ped egg... the only problem I had when i over use it and my heels hurt, I think I just took too much skin off by accident. I''ll be sure to pay attention and see if anything like that begins to happen.. odd!

ilovethiswebsite- is ABBA shampoo good for moisturizing? I''m in desperate need of a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner!!!

This is a great thread! I will have to try the ped egg but to be honest I have never even seen one.
Fiery - I remember the percolator coffee pot at my Grandma''s house. What a wonderful cup of coffee! I need to get one

1) Philosophy Amazing Grace products! They smell so yummy and can be layered without the dreaded "overkill"

2) DHC mild soap. Perfect for my face and it is organic and made from olive oil and honey.

2) Benetint for cheeks and lips. I love the rosy glow!

Nars Multiple Stick...in South Beach. Love it. I wear it on my cheeks, eyes, lips, arms, legs...its yummy!

I love this shedding blade which I use to brush my dog it gets off lots of loose hair.

I love the Paul Mitchell pet products.

I love the bliss body butter, any scent.

I LOVE this new line of skincare that Neiman'' s got in...it is called Kate Sommerville. It is fairly simple, great products, fab packaging ( creams that you push a top down and the cream comes out, you never stick your fingers in the jar but you can see how much product is left via a window on the side of the jar)

Diamcel''s number 11 foot file, pulverizes dead skin

Fresh Sugar deodorant and lip balm

Hi Booper - yes it is! I have super long thick hair - but it can also get greasy so I am always on the look out for moisturizer with just enough moisture which doesn''t make my hair all nasty and greasy. ABBA is seriously the best hair product I have ever used. I currently use their Pure Moisture line...

I forgot to add that plain old baby oil is my favorite eye make-up remover!
1.gif
It does the trick and is not as expensive as those other kinds, which are basically made of baby oil anyway.

vaseline works really well too to remove eye makeup. i use vaseline on my feet and then put on socks (sexy, i know!) to moisturize my feet overnight while i sleep. and vaseline is great when you have a cut. triple antibiotic ointment is overused and isn''t nearly as effective.

oregon chai is super yummy. i get it at java detour with chocolate soy milk. some grocery stores in town carry it too (in the organic section).

chicago cutlery santoku knives are awesome! using them makes me feel like giada or rachel.

hm, i''ll have to keep thinking about this thread.

I agree Fieryred... I love my Viva paper towels!! I will never buy any other paper towels again. I also love (I know it''s weird, but-) Benadryl! I have the hardest time sleeping and I don''t want to take sleeping pills, so Benadryl is my best friend!

Great Thread!

I couldn''t agree more about the Viva papertowels... Nothing else even comes close!

I also love my Chi straightner, can''t live without it! So quick and easy. Espicially with the Chi Silk Infusion! I have a friend who calls me every 4-6 months and tells me she got a new straightner... With all the money she spends on them she could have had 3 Chi''s by now! Crazy girl!

Bath & Body Works shampoo... really is good! Love the smells too!

Other things I love...

~LemonAid eyelid primer from Benefit. It''s the only thing that keeps my eyeshadow lasting all day.

~Club Eyeshadow from Mac... great for smokey eyes if you aren''t into the really really dark smokey eyes. A little more fun! Almost has a blue-green-brown color to it.

~Moon Beam from Benefit... it''s like a very pretty highlighter for cheeks and under your eyebrows. Sooo pretty...

~My Clarisonic face brush thingy...
30.gif

~Bamboo Bath Sheets... Can''t do without them! I hate little towels, and I hate rough towels... these are heaven!

~Oh and Buddy Wash for the dog. Their Lavender & Mint smelling one is amazing!

akmiss- I LOVE Amazing Grace by Philosophy!

My favorite product by far is Aveda's Smooth Infusion. My stylist uses this on me everytime I go in, and finally I caved and bought it to use everyday. It's wonderful! I love the feeling my hair has- smooth as silk! I also love the way Aveda's products smell.

For my face I really like Lush's Angels on Bare Skin for facewash, and Imperialis for moisturizing.

I will also second Bath and Body Works shampoos and conditioners. I love Moonlight Path!

Totally off topic- but I have been trying different coffees every day to find a flavor I love, and it helps that I have a good friend that works at Paramount Coffee. I seriously can't choose just one flavor because they're all so darn good! Vanilla Nut Cream and Mackinac Island Fudge are at the top of my list!

I love Bare Minerals Makeup.. the foundation covers my rosacea and the mineral veil makes my skin look airbrushed

i love vaseline.. i use it on lips face feet.. i would go crazy if i didn''t have any!

haha i am hanging my head in shame on this one... but i love that youthful essence microderm abrasion stuff that has its own infomercial...

Eucerin lotion\

i am obsessed with hand sanitizer

and my ipod. i cannot go anywhere without it.

There are a ton of things here that I''d LOVE to try!

Bath and Body works shampoo and conditoner is really getting alot of votes, I''m pretty sure it''s catching up to the Ped Egg! lol.

ilovethiswebsite- Thanks! It''s funny how hair can be so dry and yet look greasy so easliy, what gives?!?! I''ll have to give that brand a try!

cbs- I''ve often wondered if that bare minerals make-up was any good!

Where does everyone purchase their chi straightners at? I might try one as my next straightner... but I heard they really pull your hair, anyone have any experiance with this?

I''m gonna go and start working on my shopping list....

my shampoo and conditioner...I can''t remember the brand, but I got them at my salon. In part I just love the names...Geishalicious and Hue Nu? (plus my styling wax is "Sticky Rice") They work wonderfully and have kept my colour from fading/getting too dried out and the wax holds wonderfully.
