I love Croatia!!! (by the way, you are going to have to forgive how scungy we look in the following pics...keep in mind we were backpackers and would go days without showering!)

This is a pic of Split. After enduring a cold winter (although it never once rained or snowed on me), it was so nice to feel the warmth of Croatia. I took this pic because it made me happy...bright cheery yellow chairs!

Speaking of backpacking, to save room in backpacks, it's not uncommon to see "traveler's pants". That is, pants that unzip to shorts. This was the first time TGuy got to unzip them...except he decided mid hike to do so and his pant legs are around his ankles. Oh so sexy. This is overlooking the harbor in Split.

To continue with the sexy theme, I had to take this pic in Split. Can you tell how much we missed warmth? Sometimes I''ll whip out this photo and tell TGuy, "I can''t believe I fell in love with THIS!"

Still makes me laugh though...

And in case you ever decide to go looking for her, this is Inge and TGuy...dancing up a storm, but honestly...I am surprised they could even be standing. She was NOT shy about mixing some seriously strong drinks.

Hvar was great to just take long walks and talk...and generally fall in love. Here TGuy is making us afternoon tea in his portable camp cooker...

And finally...Dubrovnik, land of the terracotta rooftops! We look so young here (and I think TGuy was sick of taking pics). I can''t believe this was 4.5 years ago!

I don''t know if it is possible, but could you get in touch with the couple you stayed with and see if you could get them to send you a bottle of their homemade wine? I think it would bring back some amazing memories for both of you. Of course I don''t know how hard it is to get it here.

Well, we did have our 5 year anniversary this weekend and I wanted to thank everyone who contributed to this thread...

I wore no traditional costumes and we didn''t exchange any soccer jerseys. But we did go to the restaurant that Selkie suggested (Ante''s restaurant in San Pedro) and had the best time. The prices were really good, food good as well, and we had the most amusing Croatian lady as our server. The restaurant reminded me of something we''d find in Croatia.

All we really did was sit back, relax and take a trip down memory lane. Enjoying where we''ve been and how far we''ve come...and where we''re going! Just the simple joy of being in each other''s company, laughing, and marveling at fate and how blessed we''ve been.

We got home at 9:30 and totally full from our meal, promptly crawled into bed and passed out within minutes (we had a long day). Before we feel asleep, I did say that 5 years has made us pretty boring! TGuy just laughed. We just held hands and fell asleep...and I would not have had it any other way.

We are going to Rome first and then traveling to Split by boat. From there, we are driving down the coast to Dubrovnik. We may pop over to Montenegro to visit some more of DH''s realitives, but we aren''t quite sure yet. We are going to buy our tickets this month and start looking for places to stay. Can''t wait!!!!!
