So I have had my halo for 5 months, but from the get-go, I have had doubts about how high it sits. If anyone out there has a halo that sits high, can you please tell me why you chose to set it high? If on the other hand, you chose to go with a flush or almost flush setting, can you explain why?
My jeweler recommended that I set it higher so the stone can stand out, but I am beginning to think that setting it flush would give a more sophisticated look.

Hi,

I am just about to do what you did 5 months ago. I have a round diamond that i want made into a halo setting. I have looked at loads of pictures on the internet and wondered why some why high and others not. I actually though it was a lot to do with the size/shape o
the diamond, but i guess not.

Why dont you take it back to the store and they might be sympathtic enough to try and change it for you, even at a small cost.
I am sure your ring looks lovely though.

Do you mean the halo itself sits high, or the stone is set high in the halo?

I like the halo itself to be a little high but I don't like the stone to be set too high (and I don't actually like it flush with the halo either but the stone needs to "fill" the setting). But if it's the difference between being flush and showing a big airspace from the side view, I'd take flush.)
