if it works it works. If the house is old enough it won't have single or double sided roof straps or ties which is now part of the code for most houses in FL. I think double is for new roofs these days. There's a house in Riviera Beach that uses straps like this. (not as many however...)

I posted this on my FB right before Milton hit, adding “and don’t even ask me how many zip ties I have deployed”.

When it comes to a hurricane, I will do/deploy anything I can to keep our property secured … ratchet straps, zip ties, bungee cords … even blue pool rubber hose!
