Thoughts on a Dress Change for Reception?

Was it you? Who showed a poofy-skirt waltz-length almost doll-like dress on one of your dress threads? It's stuck in my mind all that time... now THAT would make a great second dress!

I am considering this dress as the one and only dress:

I am also considering this one and a one and only, but I hestitate to post the photo, because it looks so hideous on the model. The color would be much lighter in person, a soft white. And it fits MUCH more snugly through the body and takes on a bit of a mermaidish shape.

I love the Romona Kezeva!

(But I still kinda think you should stick with the first Vera...)

I, too, wouldn''t worry too much about what the guests will think about a dress change. If you want to change dress, then do it.

You look fabulous in the VW gown, and I am not loving the second gown on you. So if you do 2 dresses, maybe you can look for more options.

The other one and only dresses you are considering are nice, but I still love the VW best.

I have to honestly say I'm not a fan of the two-dress idea. To me, it just gives the feel of being more focused on "the production" of the wedding instead of the sentiment. Since you're asking for opinions, that's mine.

Now I'm also going to say this: it doesn't matter WHAT you do.....there's always going to be someone with an opinion about it. You cannot please everyone, so you should concentrate on pleasing YOU. If you want a two-dress wedding, then have it.

I know I'm in the way minority on this next thing, but I don't care for the Vera dress....it feels "costume-y" to me, and I don't find it especially flattering because it 'shortens' you by making your thigh-to-toe real estate look separated from the rest of you. Sure, it hugs your curves, but it looks like someone just got tired of working with it and just tacked unrelated fabric around the bottom. Concentrating all the attention from bust-to-thigh diminishes the overall head-to-toe look for me and makes you look less statuesque.

I agree that the second dress doesn't seem to be "you", either. The options on the 2nd page look like more workable middle-ground options to me.

Again, though......this is ONE opinion, and if your heart keeps coming back to the Vera, then you should wear the Vera. YOU are the one who will look at your pictures repeatedly; no one else will, so YOU are the one that it's important to satisfy. Don't be pressured into picking something that you'll have regrets over later or NOT picking something that you'll wish you had.
