I''ve attached the specs of a diamond I''m interested in purchasing.

Please let me know what your thoughts are.

Particularly interested to see what Gary H has to say about this one. Plugged it into the Holloway cut adviser (yes I know it was designed for Rounds) but it says the stone''s girdle is overly thick.

None the less wanted to get the opinion of this stone based upon the dimensions.

Please let me know ASAP.

Thanks in advance.

You cannot use the HCA on this. HCA is only for round, this is a fancy cut.

I was so confused by the picture, which is a round''s profile.

Do you have any pictures?

Hi regularguy

The HCA will not work for cushions so you won't get any meaningful results. Do you have any images of this diamond please or have you seen it in person?

Whoa, it's a cushion!

Just caught that.

Regular guy, why are you trying to apply results you know to be non-meaningful? Ditto on the pics being much more helpful.

I haven''t seen the stone as it''s abroad, and this is the most descriptive estimate that I can get.

any other thoughts?

knowing what we know?

Can't judge fancies without images, like ASET and clear photos. Really, I would not even consider buying a fancy without those two things. Can you work with a vendor who can get them for you?

Based on my preferences, I would say no to the diamond even without photos.

Cushion Modified Brillant = not my type. I don''t like the look. This would be the deal breaker for me.
Table = too big for my taste but I like small tables in the mid 50s. I have seen nice cushions with larger tables but we are generalizing here without more information.
Depth = a little shallow but really don''t know until we see photos and ASET.

Photos are a must!
There is a high % that CMB''s will possess the crushed ice appearance, but its not a straight rule (thats why pics are a must).
Some CMB''s are amazing cushions..., even antiquey looking.
There were many antique cushions cut to what GIA/AGS today identify as modified back in history, and they were gorgeous as well.

I don''t disagree at all. My comments were based on if I had to make a decision without a photo - I would pass.
