Lol I sure didn't!

Oh no!!!

You come and post an there aren't ANY pics!?

SO...I received these gorgeous stones today! I took pictures of both and here are those photos in addition to my thoughts:

The .74 stone http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/marquise-cut/0.74-carat-g-color-vs1-clarity-sku-179681

This stone is beautiful and lively in person. Those who thought the bow tie would be prominent were pretty much spot on. It does not really impact light performance, though, which I found to be strange. It only appears dark in certain lights. The photos show the bow tie to be more prominent than it actually is, however. In person, the faceting makes it so it is less visible....but it is still visible.

I love the spread on this stone. It is fabulous and looks much larger than its stated weight. However, the faceting is not QUITE what I was looking for. I don't think it is antique, although it has characteristics similar to an antique marquise. The center looks antique and the ends look like a modern brilliant. It is the mullet of marquise diamonds! It didn't photograph well (the sun going down didn't help), but I promise it is a very pretty stone, just not for me!

More of the .74. Not sure why I took so many - I think I just kept trying to capture what it looked like in person and had some trouble.

And here is the .70 http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/marquise-cut/0.70-carat-f-color-si1-clarity-sku-274517

This stone is simply incredible. For those who wondered, it does send out those pastel flashes in addition to some fire that I couldn't quite capture. It looks very much like the AVR and AVC diamonds that some folks have posted. It appears to have that maltese cross in the center. For these reasons, it truly appears to be antique to my eyes (although like Dreamer mention has perhaps been recut or repolished).

Ultimately, I decided I am not going to keep this one either (I KNOW). It is so beautiful, but I have a couple of reservations about it. First, it is a tad too white for my liking. It is pretty icy. Even though it is a fancy cut, it is just as white as my GIA F colored round. While some might love this, I like my antique stones to be vanilla in color. Second, it is a bit smaller than I would have liked given my ring size and that I was thinking of setting it into a solitaire (though I wasn't sure). I think my stone is out there. If it is, it would have this same facet pattern, because it's just magnificent.

I had fun playing around with these diamonds either way!

It actually taught me a lot about what to look for in the future, so I'm okay with it. I'm in no hurry.

Sorry to disappoint everyone! I really hope somebody snatches the .70 up because it is lovely.

Thank you for posting pictures! Those are beautiful diamonds, though neither one worked for you.

If you start a new thread with what you want in a diamond lots of folks will help you find it, and the setting too :D .

Thanks for looking! I will likely start a new thread in the coming weeks after I do some digging for myself. Sometimes I like the chase, you know?

Goodness, that old cut is AmAZING! But I get it re: size and color. Now you know what you want though. AND hopefully a PSer will buy the old cut F color one. Its a pretty rare stone -- that color and faceting, if a true antique, which I suspect it is (I have never heard of a modern cutter doing antique style marquise before!

It really is stunning, and I feel almost a little guilty letting go of a stone so rare. I really, really, really hope it goes to a PSer. I couldn't live with not being able to see it set! LOL.

I know you're still on the hunt for th stone, but I just want to say that the E/W simple solitaire setting you posted is TDF!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!
