I'm consider purchasing this diamond for my girlfriend and wanted thoughts on it from some outside knowledgeable sources. I went to take a look at this diamond and really liked it, and I've seen quite a few thus far. It was definitely eye-clean, with nothing in the table and the inclusions I could see were very minor and not detectable by the naked eye. I also thought it had a lot of "sparkle". I did not look through a spectroscope though I'm not sure that matters a whole lot to me, so long as it seemed sparkly to me.

The price quoted was $19,400, but I feel I can probably talk him down to $18K or so for the loose diamond based on others who have dealt with him and his seeming willingness to negotiate. After perusing some online vendors, this would seem to be in-line with pricing for a diamond of similar quality/size. I'd like to keep my total price under $20K for the ring and diamond. Am I missing anything here? It's an I, SI1, with excellent cut/symmetry/polish. The measurements seemed okay to me based on some research, but are the proportions okay in your estimation? I didn't see any murkiness in the diamond with the medium blue fluorescence. Does fluorescence really bother anyone, especially at a medium level? Let me know your thoughts. I've attached the GIA sheet.

Proportions are borderline. Not really PS quality. Price seems to not be that great.

ETA: ooops, I see on the report it is an I SI1, so that makes the price better. Have a picture?

No picture, and yes- that was a typo in the text. I meant it is an I, SI1, as I stated in the subject header.

Falls into that steep/deep territory which could produce leakage. Can you obtain an idealscope image for the stone?
