Thoughts on this emerald and Can emeralds be resurfaced?

I bought this emerald and noticed the top facets are worn. Can emeralds be resurfaced or do they need a recut?

I’m new to colored stones and bought this on a whim. I’m still in the return period, I’d appreciate your thoughts!
