I'm saving up for a new ER gemstone and I really, REALLY like this Jeff spinel cut....what do you think? Would it look good in a bezel Shouldt setting? Thank you!!!

Love these two, as well.....

I once had Jeff working on a pink asscher spinel for me. Unfortunately, our precious furbaby, Clyde, was having emergency grand mal seizures and we had massive medical bills for him and I couldn't finish my spinel project. We lost Clyde and I haven't thought about my project until now.

Trying to decide between a blue sapphire, green garnet or pink spinel. Asscher or round with chunky facets?

Love this Shouldt setting....rose gold or a white metal?

I love the cut! Looks like it has an open culet. Is it an OEC or transitional inspired cut?

No idea....I just emailed Jeff to ask him. I'm hoping the facets are super flashy. This will be my forever gemstone.

Still destashing the rest of my collection soon.

The facets are very small and in great quantity so I think it would qualify as old cut inspired? It should be quite sparkly and with it being precision cut, the performance should not be affected by being bezeled.

Lori,
Step cuts and brilliant modified are so different; one has slow large flash, the other busy small flashes. Which do you prefer? The other thing I've noticed is that JW's photo accuracy is a little off, from personal experience and in talking to others. My pink spinel is more lilac (has some purple) and another PSer's pink spinel has a touch of orange even though his pictures do not show any modifiers. Just something to think about.

the asscher garnet & spinel are so pretty!

All of them are breathtaking imho. Love the cut on the spinel, though -- it must sparkle like mad. In a ring, I wouldn't be able to take my eyes off of it. On the other hand, who doesn't love an asscher?

Loriken, have you decided (in a whole 24 hrs since your post)? Which are you leaning toward?

I'm curious too. I really like the round and the green asscher!

Btw, are these stones that Jeff shared directly with you, or is there somewhere I should be looking for stones he has available? His website only ever seems to show past stones, right?

I'm having a hard time warming up to the Portuguese style round with the blunted culet. It's probably because I'm accustomed to seeing larger facets with blunted culets.

No idea yet....trust me!!!! I have had so many different shapes and colors of gemstones...lots of asschers...that I've sold over the past few years....Freke's purple asscher spinel used to be mine and it changed hands a few times. She can tell you about the beautiful gemmies that I've had to let go.

Anyway, I'm slowly saving up for something new....do not currently wear a wedding ring and will need something very simple and comfy for my SLE Lupus finger.

Do I want a three stone with an EC, but diamond in the middle with CS on the sides or the other way around?

Single sparkly chunky facet center stone, CS or diamond, in a rose gold or platinum bezel?

Those photos are from Jeff's website. I've been saving lots of his photos for inspiration.
