Oh, I didn't equate the tin foil with white gold, actually. When I did it, I couldn't actually see much of the tin foil, it was more the encasing of the stone that made the colour of it pop. So, I thought this is what might happen if the stone was bezelled or haloed. Maybe I'm using the tin foil trick wrong? People have suggested it "to see what the stone might look like set". I think stones tend to deepen/darken when set? But I'm still a newbie in that area, since I've actually only set very few of my stones.
Anyway, didn't know if it would do anything to the colour of yours that you liked or didn't like, to potentially help you with your decision.
