Thoughts on this spinel?

Howdy all,

Spotted this lovely from a reputable PS vendor. Priced amazingly within my grasp. What are your thoughts?

I love the size and cut and purple is a favourite of mine. I see a little grey modifier but don't think it would be too bad...

I have asked the seller a few questions about it but think a few things got lost in translation!

Mainly I wondered if you think it will go extinct in sunlight?

I see more grey than purple on my screen, but I don't have any experience with the vendor and have no idea how accurate the picture is.

I have asked that vendor for additional photos and he/she was very accommodating, provided a handshot. I would ask for one if that will help you make a decision.

What an elegant looking stone. I must say I do see a bit of gray in that pretty emerald cut stone. I think that cut is best suited to stones that have good color to carry it. As others have said, a hand shot might give you better idea.

It's a more purplish red and I really like the sparkly cut. I think it's about 1.5 cts and asking $179.

Thanks Wordie - it's a beautiful stone, I just prefer emerald/asscher cuts. If only it was that colour but in an emerald cut I'd be all over it...

It looks like it'll have a window.

ETA: And that also looks more gray than purple to me, and I think it's a far cry from Purple Pink.
