Sorry for the brevity here, but I'm heading out to work.

Please give me your opinion on these three settings.

I'm going to go with the Gumachain. I would have picked the Dooleage ring if you could have got it in yellow gold.

Although I voted for the third in the other thread, now that I see all three together, and know the prices for different settings, I would go with the second one, in yellow gold.

I voted for dooleage, as I find the flow nicer.
But it would be great if it comes in unplated white gold.

Of these, I *think* I'd choose the bottom one..what about that swirly one you posted on FB? Is that out of the running? I liked that one too.

The third one for only one reason. If your stone has silk in it, and it appears neon-y, closing it may dampen the effect. The third one seems to show the stone to its best advantage.

While I think they are all pretty mountings, I think they detract from the stone (sorry). The one that seems to focus the eye most on the stone is the last one. I don't know, Uppy, I mean this in a good way...I would keep looking :( :errrr:

These are the only three I've considered. So I guess that would make the middle one the "swirly" one.

Sorry Uppy- I voted for #3 which of course was the most expensive but it was the only setting that was my style plus it made my heart sing.

I'm sorry Packy! You were right. There was a swirly one from Adzia. I forgot. I did contact her for a quote.

What about a substantial solitaire in 18k or 22k? Something that will allow enough light to get to the stone?

I don't like any of them to be honest.

1) Silver isn't a good match for that stone
2) The design is kind of "clunky" and overpowers the stone
3) As VL said in another thread, it looks like high end Zales jewelry. It's an overpriced setting if you ask me.

Why not ask Daniel M or someone like that to make you something delicate, unique and affordable?

#2....either color metal but i think [but am not sure] i prefer the gold tone.

followed by #1.

i really dislike #3 for your stone.

I like what Joce linked to, and the swirly Adzia one. The Adzia one is kinda funky I think.

Here's the "swirly" one Packy is referring to.

I don't want "delicate." I want something funky and different, but something that showcases the stone.

Uppy I adore the first one - it's unusual and for the price can't be beaten! I have another take on it - as I don't think it looks like a high street setting because I have an antique ring that is very very similar and I adore it for it's uniqueness. If budget is a consideration then go for silver. If not, then w/gold in this ring would be lovely.

My second favourite is the swirly one that Pack talked about.

thank you for that! i don't feel so alone here on P*...... :appl:

3rd one..showcases the stone more..it doesn't get lost in the metal

+1 Gumuchian, I think prongs work better with the stone. The Adzia looks nice too.

Well, how about a more modern setting, similar to the clean lines and swooping curves on Chrono's new chyrsoberyl ring?

I really, really, really love that mahenge...I'm not quite sure that it 'fits' any of those settings though.

I am sure that it needs yellow gold! Please don't put it in silver or white!

I just got the mock ups from Adzia using her Ocean Sea Surf mounting. I think I like this best!

I like the one from Adzia. Definitely I prefer yellow gold with that stone, and honestly if she could do a higher carat yellow gold that would be GORGEOUS (but maybe not budget friendly or possible...)

I loooooooove that! She really can do no wrong, can she?

I haven't found a flaw yet, Athena! This mount would be in 18k yellow, and my stone is much, MUCH brighter than the one she has in the mock ups. It is really growing on me. I def want to have the stone open enough to get the light it needs to really glow.

Adzia! I  anything and everything ocean/beach related.
