Three Stone Baguette Setting - Flush Band?

Hi all,

I’m looking for a platinum setting only (no center stone, no baguettes).

Center stone will be a 1.3c EC about 7x5mm.

She really wants a setting that allows the band to sit flush against the ring without a gap. She’s not super keen on a bent band.

Does anyone know of a nice looking setting like this? I’m looking for something not custom and under 2k without the stones ideally.

Here’s some inspiration... Sadly it definitely would not let the band sit flush.

I was going to say the same thing. And, to take it a step further from what the lady doesn't want, it will not be a straight band, there may have to be a little deviation of sorts to accommodate for where the basket curves around the stone. Having the whole thing done custom is probably the best option so that it fits together the way she wants, as well as so the wedding band doesn't have a curve to it.
One suggestion I would make is for OP to check out Lauren B Jewelry. Their mountings are really geared toward accommodating a straight band. I would highly recommend seeing what they have.

Is there a reason this design is almost never found off the shelf? I was thinking the basket being integrated into the band may be stronger. Is it a potential issue of durability to put the basket above the band?

I am not sure exactly what you are trying to say regarding the basket, but I really suggest you check out Lauren B. They seem to really design for people to place a regular band (no curve) adjacent to the engagement ring, and they just showed a baguette engagement ring as you are looking at paired with a band the other day on their instagram.

It looks like it wouldn’t let the band sit flush.

I think it’s really a decision between loving that style and being willing to have a band that creates space or one that has cut outs to make it a flush fit. Or else consider a different style, unfortunately.

Have curved bands always been a thing? Or is it a recent trend? She’s kind of concerned about having a ring that’ll age well.

Ring manufacturers tend not to produce flush set settings because they produce different components e.g. baskets, shanks etc - and it is much cheaper for mass manufacturers to assemble these components together to produce a ring.

To get it flush set means going custom, but it does open up a lot of options re:wedding bands. I do think a 3 stone baguette is a very elegant and timeless look.

There are many rings created with the basket above the shank (vs. having the basket stick outside of the shank). For some reason you just dont
see it with emerald cuts. Even if we could find a semi-mount, the fact that you dont want the diamonds with it makes it even more impossible.

Why do you want the setting without the baguettes? Do you already own the baguettes?

David Klass could make it and does a nice job. That Victor Canera posted above would be gorgeous but it will not be in your budget.

I’ve given up on the band being flush. I was able to talk to my girlfriend again and this time she’s accepting of a curved band or a gap. Thanks for helping me understand the options so we could get to a solution, even if it’s not what she first wanted.
