I really like the style of Tiffany Diamond Cross because of the simple look. It comes in 2 sizes....Are they overpriced? If you think that they are overpriced, please let me know how much similar item should cost? (with 0.5 ct or 1.87 ct) Which one of the 2 is a better buy?? Do you think all the diamonds in there are really F & VS quality as they said they are? Do you think the cross will be sparkly?? The individual diamond in the small cross must be extremely small as the total ct is only 0.50 ct. (0.045 ct x 11) What about the large one? Each individual diamond will be only 0.17 ct. Is it too small if I want a sparkly pendant? Please let me know! Thanks..I am clueless when it comes to diamond!

1) Cross pendant. Platinum; 11 round brilliant diamonds, carat total weight 1.87, color grade F, clarity grade VS; on a 16" chain.
$8,250

I think it is overpriced. It's not a terribly intricate design, or something that screams 'Tiffany's'. Try getting a quote from one of the online vendors like Whiteflash. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the difference. They have wonderful diamonds and have done a lot of custom work for people on here.

edited to add: then you can also specify exactly what size diamonds you want instead of being limited to a 'small' cross or a 'large' one! the WF diamonds will be verrrry sparkly!

Tiffany isn''t going to mislead you, the diamonds will be what they say they are and yes, the piece will be gorgeous and sparkly. is the price worth it? that''s really up to you, the consumer. You are paying premium for the Tiffany name. Not necessarily a bad thing, just a fact. Is the name important to you? Do you like the customer service, the little blue box and everything that goes along with the Tiffany name? then it might be worth it to you. I agee with angeline that that design isn''t really special or unique to Tiffany, which I''d want if I was paying the premium for the name. If the name isn''t really important to you, then definitely look into having it made or purchase somewhere else.

I agree that that sounds pretty overpriced. The design is so simple that there is nothing distinctively "Tiffany" about it that people would notice w/o seeing the box. Signed Pieces has two Facets brand cross pendants that are much less and the design looks very similar.

I bet Whiteflash could also make you a great custom pendant with their super ideal ACA diamonds for less than the Tiffany pendants.

ooooh nice find Kay! I didn''t know Facets made these - yum!

Yes, the Tiffany crosses are terribly overpriced, but the only one I like for myself is the .5 carat one. I am thinking that one is about 3/4" long, and that is a nice small size. You really need to decide the size you like before choosing any of these. There is a big difference in the look of these sizes. I''d never consider getting the larger Tiffany one because it is waaaaaaay overpriced.

hey, how are you?

I have to say...I am a name brand type when it comes to handbags and shoes...and some of my clothes...but for jewelry, I would never do name brand when I could get the same thing for a lot less. BUT I have wanted a diamond cross necklace...and when looking, the Tiffany''s cross is the nicest I have seen so far, but maybe the facets is just as nice in person?? If you are looking for something dainty and have the money to spend, I would go with the Tiffany''s cross for $2,500 and NOT because of the name...but because of the look. But I would also shop around, if I could get one from whiteflash or another reputable jeweler, and it was just as nice as the Tiffany cross, I would go with the less expensive.

I agree! I would have WF custom make it for you or buy the facets one (nice find Kay!). These are much more reasonably priced. It is a personal decision though. You have to decide if you want to pay the premium for the Tiffany name. If you decide to go with Tiffany''s, I''d get the smaller one. The larger one is WAY overpriced.

I bought one from Facets and it is beautiful! The diamonds are icy white and it was a much better price than the Tiffany.

Angeline: I didn''t know whiteflash can custom made a cross for you. Thanks for letting me know!

Mrssalvo: I am just thinking that Tiffany jewelery will have a better resale value compare to others. If I am tired of it one day, I think I can sell it out. It''s amazing that their jewelery is soooo overpriced! But if other custom made diamond cross will be F & VS 1 too...the diamond should be as sparkly as the Tiffany ones. Not sure if Tiffany ones are ideal cut though.

Do you think they are?

Strmrdr: Wow..that''s a good deal! Didn''t know each diamond will only cost $300!!

Kay: THANK YOU VERY MUCH! The cross from Facets looks EXACTLY like the one from Tiffany & it''s so much cheaper!!! The entire cross is diamond & platinum as well.

with ideal cut diamonds. & it''s only $3000 US while Tiffany charge $8000 for it. I just can''t believe it after I see that website.

Diamondseeker: The small Tiffany cross is very cute. I love how simple it looks! The large one may be too attention seeking though as it''s more sparkly.

Golden: I haven''t really browse around online for diamond crosses, but I can''t find anything nicer than the Tiffany cross in jewelery store. I think the Facets one will be a good match though. It should look nice in real life...I mean, diamond looks the same to me..lol The style is exactly like the Tiffany''s..just a bit smaller. The thing about the small Tiffany cross is that I am worry that the diamond are too small to be sparkly compare to the large one. I have seen both size in real life & because of the lighting in Tiffany. Both of them is very sparkly.

MaryAliana: You bought one from Facets????!?!?
