Tiffany style solitaire settings from whiteflash recommendations

Which of these 4 you think would best suit a 1 carat round diamond? I kind of like the knife edge, but I''ve seen some pictures where I thought it looked like the prongs were "eating up" the diamond and made the diamond kind of get overwhelmed by the prongs, but maybe it was a bad picture.

I voted D...because even though it is called the classic here...it is the more updated current head. For this current day and time. The other head is to me the standard one used for years past...often referred to as Tiffany Style head. (in your first three choices I only saw the old style prongs...I may have zipped through them too quickly).

I wonder if size of the stone is what was hampering your love of the classic style you noted as being overwhelmed by the prongs? Was the stone less than .75 of a carat?

I think they are all beautiful! For me, I prefer rounds in 4 prongs, but it''s a personal thing. So I prefer A or C. I like that they show more of the diamond from the profile and side view. You see less metal that way.

i am going to get a 1 carat stone, so my main concern with the knife edge is whether the prongs will cover up a lot of the stone and "overwhelm" the rock or not.

i've had a hard time finding pictures of the knife edge with 1 carat in it, although i've seen 1.5 and like 2+ stones.

edit: just reread your question, i'm not sure how large the stone was, i'll try to find it.

I like 4 prongs better on a diamond. I also don't like the "donut" at the base that seems to be in right now so I chose C

i like C over A simply because it has a platinum head and A doesn''t. i just like the simple classic look.
