These are the other things I bought at Tiffany on the tax-free weekend. I already had an 18k YG Elsa Peretti 16-inch chain, and a 0.12 Tiffany YG DBTY solitaire at 0.12. I thought they would look great layered with some of the Tiffany dot charms.
My SA mentioned that the more charms on the chain, the longer the chain should be, which I agree with. So I had Tiffany lengthen my 18k 16-inch Peretti chain to 19 inches with jump rings in between at each inch, so I can wear the chain at 16, 17, 18, or 19 inches. I think Tiffany did a great job on this - the additional gold is all 18k and the lengths are exact. It cost $79 including tax, which is much cheaper than buying lots of new chains! The repair was not tax-free, sadly.
However, during the tax-free weekend I then bought the amethyst and blue chalcedony Tiffany dot charms at $300 each.
I can mix and match and wear the charms together at a longer length, separately at a shorter length, or layer them with my 0.12 Tiffany DBTY.
The only thing missing is that I want to get the green chrysoprase dot charm to wear with the amethyst for fall/winter. http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/item.aspx?sku=29283818
