Time for a cool change...meet my princess

Hey Everyone,

Our family has been in the grips of the bronchitis thing. We''ve been slowing getting better and to celebrate (ok, I made up a reason), I just had to go and start something new. I changed my rock... Yep, this time she''s a GIA certed princess, 1.5, D, SI2. (I think this must be trade #23? Oh golly, who''s counting?) Anyway, I thought I''d share my first pics this morning. I really need to get some better pictures, but for now... here''s my new little treasure.

Oh thank you. I''ve had gamut of colors over the years and they are all beautiful! I''ve really been battling with what looks better with my skin tone. I''ve had F emerald cut, K princess, I oval, E round, H radiant, g pear (was it a g?), basically many shapes, cuts, weights, and colors over the years. They were all unique it their own right.

I decided to look at my wardrobe more closely for inspiration. I like to wear white rather than egg shell, etc and my skin is freckly and red pinkish. Lighter color diamonds go well with my skin. As far as metals go, if I could do it all over again, I would probably seriously give some attention to a rose gold setting. (Boy do I like what I''ve seen here in rose gold...) But, I have this plat and it stays.

Sometimes the rock just spoke to me and the cut ruled over any color. A well cut diamond can nicely mask some color.

My dh has a fondness for square shapes. He was in favor of going princess this time and it matches my right hand ring (a fashion rectangular ring) and earings. (I did like how that oval made my fingers so long... sigh...) I really like square/rectangular shapes, too. Oh, I like ''em all.

What I''m trying to say is that color is so personal. I can''t say I''ve always sought out a D, but I''m loving this look for now!

Oh, I didn''t mention that it has faint flor. I searched for info and found several interesting pieces of information. I gather it won''t show any color except maybe in strong sunlight or under a black light. It definitely isn''t cloudy. I''m just curious if anyone has any interesting experiences with "faint"? What should I expect to see? Dh said he thought he caught a glimpse of violet when he bought it. I haven''t seen that yet.

very pretty! just curious....have you tried a cushion? random thought that popped into my head. the "right" stone would seemingly blend all of those shapes together for you b/c it could still be squarish/elongated with rounded corners, etc. your new ring looks amazing on your hand, though!!!!! congrats!

Funny you said that.. I always told dh that the oval had those chunky facets like what I thought a cushion has. They are beautiful--I love chunky facets.
