Does anyone have titanium wedding/ engagement rings? My bf and I are especially interested in black titanium. It looks so beautiful, especially with *diamonds* in like a tension setting or something, but does anyone have one who can tell me what it''s really like to have one? I know it''s kind of rare, but my bf and I want something different... we''re sort of an interesting couple and the uniqueness of black Ti would fit us perfectly.

Thanks!

My FI has a regular ti wedding band, and while we're not married yet, he has been wearing it around the house incessantly and he loves it. Looks great, it is super lightweight (great for the guy who isn't used to wearing jewelry), and also cheap to replace if necessary!

I cannot recommend Bruce at Boonerings.com more highly either. VERY quick service and great prices. Check him out...

, but he still has his and wears it all the time. It still looks good as new over a year later, and he likes the lightweight metal as well. I personally didn''t particularly like the thickness and width of the band after wearing it for a while, so that is something to keep in mind. Ours had an engraving on it, so it had to be a standard 6mm, I think. Also, be very careful about the sizing as they are VERY difficult to resize and in many cases may have to be remade if it is incorrect.

Do you mean the thickness as in the height it stood off your finger? Because we were having something of a problem with that too when we went to look at rings and try them on.

A custom manufacturer can make your ring to any width or thickness. Most jewelers get batches of them from distributors and rings made from China, so they are not as flexible. Black titanium is titanium with zirconium added to the mix to be able to get it black. It makes a hard (8.4 Mohs) oxide coating on the surface. Most titanium rings can be sized by the manufacturer up around a half size or so, and in some cases, can be sized down also.
