I was hoping to get a few opinions of this diamond band. I usually love anything art deco and anything somewhat unique, but don not know if this band looks right on my hand. I am thinking it may look nicer on someone with long, slender fingers.

Any thoughts?

If you like it, then by all means, wear it. It's a stunning ring.

I do like the ring and think it is a lovely piece(wouldn't know it from my pics!), but maybe not on my hand!?!?!

I think it looks very nice on you! It is a thicker piece but I think your fingers are long enough to be able to wear it.

Great find!

This is a gorgeous ring, but I wish it has more rounded edges that give a more feminine feel, like this edited photo.

GAWD!!! I LOVE it - but, if you don't love it on you, then you won't wear it - so don't keep it!

To my eyes, your fingers ARE long and slender! I think this is a beautiful piece, and it looks great on you.

Very pretty!

If you don't feel comfortable with it on your left-hand ring finger, can you wear it on your right-hand middle finger, as an RHR? Would it fit? I noticed that my bigger rings really feel better there.

Also, wear it for a few days on the finger of your choice and see if you don't get used to it and notice it feels and looks just fine. Another phenomenon I observed in myself ;))

I admired that ring on ebay and it is such a stunning example of its kind! The stance is high. I agree that it could work better on the right middle finger. The price was also very good for such fins workmanship.

I think it is beautiful and it suits your finger as well as it would anyone's. I think you just aren't used to the design of that setting. FancyDiamond posted what we are more accustomed to. Only you can decide if you love it enough to keep it, though!

I think the ring looks lovely alone AND on your finger. I wouldn't worry about long slender fingers, because this ring is a beauty on you!

Love love love it

I think its a lovely ring and you have lovely, lovely hands! That said, it looks very different straight on than it does from the side. Straight on, it looks like a wide band - lovely, but wide. From the profile off your finger, it looks so delicate with milgraining and fine detailing. But on your finger, it looks high and wide. I agree with the poster who said too bad you can't shave down the edges, but I guess that would defeat the whole style of the ring! :blackeye:

HI:

What are your reservations, exactly?

It is a gorgeous ring and looks very well on you.

cheers--Sharon

I am kinda with you on the "edits". The stickyouttyness of it is kind of a downer for me on it. It's really pretty but REALLY tall and really stickyoutty on the sides. It looks nice on your hand, but from a strictly comfort and practicality point of view ...not a winner TO ME. And the fact that you're asking...that to me says you need to be convinced and it's a no.

Oh my!! That is an incredible ring - I love the finger coverage and height of the setting. I think it is a beautiful piece of period workmanship and quite unique. I don't know if you are comfortable with it as a LH ring... but on your RH??? does it feel a bit more natural there? And it really does look good on your hand! We are usually our own worst critics, aren't we??

I hope you enjoy this beautiful piece, but if you don't, then let it go and another "Better" piece will find you - trust in how the universe works (well, universe and active shopping - they kind of work together! ;)) )

As others have said YOU are the only one whose opinion matters. With that said - I particularly LOVE the sticky-outness - to ME it's what makes the ring so unique and special!!!! I love the topdown and the profile and everything else about it! I love the way it looks on your hand But, again - it's fairly moot, what I think......

Since YOU'RE expressing reservations, then I guess I'd say take a pass on it.

I love that style of ring. I've been stalking several on ebay :) As a person with relatively long skinny fingers, I know I'd have to wear that style on my middle finger. And there's just something about it's squareness that makes me think it needs to be on the largest finger for some reason - maybe to balance it out?

It's a really beautiful ring and I think it looks great on your hand.
Most important to me is: How does it feel? And how do you feel when you're wearing it? I don't think you mentioned that.
You won't have any trouble getting rid of it if you decide it just isn't for you.

I love it, really gorgeous! I have several similar rings saved to my inspiration folder and just added yours  If that was in my hot little hands I would covet it and never let it go :naughty: Keep it, it looks beautiful on you :))

I do think it is a gorgeous ring but I don't think it looks right on your hand. It looks more like a weapon or something you could make a stamp on something with. Just my two cents...

I also think it is gorgeous but it is so subjective as to whether you like it on you or not. Last week I tried on an amazing sexy emerald green dress with a TDF cutout back. I mean it was drop dead gorgeous. But I felt it was too much for me. My dh loved it on me and the shop owner also loved it on me but as my dh said, if I couldn't muster the attitude to wear it then it wasn't the dress for me. So I passed because it didn't feel like me if that makes sense at all. So, think about it. If you truly love it and love it on you keep it. But if you just love it for what it is but don't feel comfortable with it on you I would pass. Not an easy decision I know to let something so beautiful go...but being comfortable with how you think it looks and feels on you is critical.

Its very pretty and I love all of the details but I don't love it on you. And since you're questioning it, I would return it. I'm with ame in that the "stickyouttyness" just doesn't appeal to me.

Thank you all for you opinions! I appreciate them!!!

It is a gorgeous piece-sparkles like mad and has awesome fine detail work!

That said I am still torn, I wore the ring yesterday and tried it out on different fingers and am still unsure if it looks right on me. I feel like my fingers are too short and stumpy-stems from childhood, the women in my family all have long slender fingers-I do not and my grandmother would remind me of that often!

This is a tough decision for me---If I keep it, I would wear it on my right hand, but couldn't take pics with it over there, so moved it to the left hand. It would be an occasional wear ring and is very comfortable-hardly know I have it on! It is a gorgeous, unique example of the period, has wonderful workmanship and it came with a great price tag---so many positives, maybe I just need to give it some more time to try and decide!

Well, FWIW I think it looks beautiful on your hand! I don't think your fingers are short or stumpy! It's a really gorgeous piece too. But you really don't seem to care for how it looks on you, and that's an important aspect to the enjoyment of a ring, so maybe it would be best to return it and use the funds for something more pleasing to your eye. You just sound so undecided that it makes me think this ring isn't for you.

Checking on this thread again, yup, still really like it :)

Can you show us (well, me) a picture of it on your middle finger?

What a beautiful example of Deco art. It is a lovely ring! As others have said, though, there is something making you hesitate, so sounds like it's best that you are taking some time to see what you think.

Do you mind sharing which vendor you purchased from?

As for stubby fingers, as a long-suffering recipient of the term "piano legs" from my grandmother, I completely understand. Fortunately, my husband seems to appreciate musical instruments...

Hmmm... me thinks Gramma's mean-spirited comments have warped your impression of your hands ;)) Time to exorcise those voices in your head!

If you aren't feeling it, no matter how pretty it is, then I would pass. It's a gorgeous ring but I find with pieces I like but don't love on me, they just never get significant wear. And I bet you will still be on the lookout for your perfect ring, even if you do keep it.

I was checking to see what you'd decided. I like the ring ... on YOU. I think it's unique, beautifully detailed and PERFECT for a "special occasion" RHR.

That said however ... like alot of "special occasion" rings, it's definitely going to grab people's attention and while WE think it looks great on you I'm wondering if that added attention will make you feel even more uncomfortable. Spectacular pieces of jewelry should'nt make you feel anything but wonderful (& glamorous), so if this one is going to make you feel uncomfortable and self-conscious then you should definitely send it back. That way you won't have to spend one more minute agonizing over it.
