I know people usually fall on one or the other side of this debate...but let's hear it. I used to HATE them. In fact, when I did a PS search I found my own post on hating them, lmao.

Until I got a pair of super fakey knockoffs, that are just slippers not actual shoes. I. Love. Them. I wear them ALL the time. We have an old house with hardwoods and I am never without these slippers. And now...I find myself thinking how NICE it would be to wear them to run errands in, or whatever else. No dinner dates or anything like that, just around the house and errands. It is COLD here now, and I am pregnant and fairly uncomfortable in general, so do I UGG or no???

I will go into lurkdom after this like I said, but I must comment on this.

Do it. They ARE ugly but damn are they comfortable. Buy half a size smaller than your normal foot size because they tend to stretch. I actually buy them an entire foot size smaller and they feel really snug at first but then they're JUST RIGHT. They have a ton of styles too...can't go wrong. Hope you do it!

Comfy tootsers especially when pregnant are essential! Yeah, go for it.

I would go for it. I was never a fan (and I am still not a fan) but people must wear them for a reason if the trend has stayed afloat all this time. I am tempted to get a pair this year myself!

They are UGGly... but so so comfortable. If you're just going to wear them around the house and for errands then why not? I wear them when I'm not doing anything particularly important and they definitely are the comfiest shoes ever. I wear a 7.5 and ordered a 6 which fit perfectly. They were very snug at first, but after the fluff gets worn down they will fit like a dream!

LOVE my Uggs.

I was super resistant to them at first, but I love how warm they are (I have a tall classic in chestnut, and a short classic in rose). I'm a convert although I'm glad they last forever, because $180 for boots...ugh.

Do it - you'll love them!

I too resisted them forever but last year got a pair of short boots in chestnut. I love them on cold days - so very warm!

They have a new style of house shoe this year - Rylan - and I just ordered them in sand. When I'm at home I'm in my house shoes so they will get plenty of use. I think they probably look good enough to wear out of the house too with jeans or whatever.

They are expensive but I enjoy them as much as I do my Coach bags!

Just a word of warning-don't wear them in the rain or snow! Otherwise, you want to be comfortable, so I would get them :) Plus I don't think they look bad with pants/jeans, the look I am not a fan of is with short skirts/shorts or leggings. But...to each his/her own.

I really like them. they're very comfortable and warm. I wear mine when I run errands. And dh says they look cute on me ::)

LOVE my Uggs. Resisted them for years, but living in the Midwest, they're so awesome. Half the time, I don't even wear socks with them b/c they're so warm. I think you won't regret them if you get a pair.

Autumnovember has the cutest pair of really fluffy sheepskin cuff boots. She can totally pull them off, but not everyone can.

Or waterproof them! I accidentally wore mine in AWFUL slush the other day and it was not good. Thankfully they're tough - just wiped them down later and they look fine.

yeah I tried to waterproof mine but the snow...didn't quite cut it. I think waterproofing is OK as long as you are not in a GIANT rainstorm. If you live in a really wet/snowy climate GORE-TEX shoes work really well :)

On black friday, DH and I stood outside target for almost 2 hours in 0 degree weather.. with a slight breeze. The only thing on me that wasn't cold were my feet, thanks to my uggs! I was only wearing a very thin almost see-through pair of socks underneath and not once did my toes get cold. They were quite toasty...

I don't care if anyone finds them ugly. I am IN LOVE :)

I am totally in love with them and i used to hate them too....I live in Greece and the weather here isn't that cold, so you don't need such boots to survive the winter. But last year i got a pair of authentic UGG boots before going to Toronto for Christmas (alright, i also got the matching gloves and hat :saint: )...My credit card suffered (and so did my pocket  ) but...THEY SAVED MY LIFE...
I was even wearing them in the snow (of course on the streets of the city of Toronto which are relatively clean) and all i can say is: I LOVE MY UGGS!!! They are the warmest, most comfortable and healthiest shoes for your feet! You will be....bullet proof from cold and you'll be able to walk for hours without feeling any pain whatsoever! Not to mention that now they are considered totally in fashion, so you'll feel stylish too and i've seen so many ladies on the street really rocking them with great leggings and the rest! Yay for UGGS :appl:

I love mine, they keep me warm in during the wonderful midwest winters.

As someone who has worn ugg boots since i could walk i say go for it!

Throughout winter as soon as I get home my work shoes come off and the ugg boots go on.

I don't see them as a trend or a style / fashion statement, I see them as a necessity. :))

as a general style, i say yes -- they're warm, comfortable, and certainly not as ugly as crocs ;) . if you are considering the classic boot from ugg australia, i say no.

i have owned a few pairs from ugg australia and my opinion is that compared to years past, the quality of the boot has really gone down, making them quite overpriced in my eyes. you'll notice this when you compare the density of the shearling inside the boot (particularly inside the heel) against other brands. i was able to find a pair of australian shearling boots from costco (still chinese made though) for 1/5th the price of ugg australia's, and these are the boots i wear daily (instead of the ugg australia). at this point, i've sworn off ugg australia and, when i need a replacement, plan on ordering online from an australian company. you can find retailers by locating the australian sheepskin association online.

like others have mentioned, i would recommend water-proofing/weather-proofing them well before you expose them to winter weather and they will last forever. happy shopping!

I was always anit-ugg until last Christmas when my Aunt got a pair. I slipped them on and the best description that I can think of is millions of tiny little angels massaging your feet. It was beyond words. Sold.

Sorry, no, too ugly for me. Bleah! They really are glorified slippers, which I just don't understand.

But if I was pregnant (better you than me! :D ) I would put comfort over style, too.

Agree with everyone else. I don't wear them as a trend, but they are great for running around town in jeggings and a sweater.

I always joked that UGG was short for UGLY but I have to tell you..those babies keep my toes WARM!!! I don't have the UGG brand but another Australian company who's their direct competitor. I've bought both of my daughters EMU's (looks like UGG) every winter for the last 3 yrs and they love them. We each have the full leg boot (up to knee) Being in NYC and waiting for the bus in the bitter cold is bad..but when your toes are toasty who cares how ugly those boots are.

GO FOR THE UGGS and keep warm! :D

In life, priorities change. At one point your priority is to look cute AT ANY COST. At another ... thousands of tiny angels caressing your feet begins to sound, um, NICE.

Get em! FWIW ... the pair of UGGs I wear the most these days are a motorcycle boot looking shorty -- totally leather with a buckle and a lug sole. Wearable in more types of weather but still super comfy. My husband has the "dude" pair of these too. We LIVE in them for the winter. He was a NO WAY JOSE boot type right up until he slipped these babies on for the first time. All of a sudden they "looked" more like "him" after all. Un huh. Thought so.

Do it! They're butt UGGly, but so worth it. I'm on my third winter in mine and completely adore them. I basically put them on in November and don't take them off again until March. I freaking live in my Uggs. My feet are so much warmer and they keep me warmer in general. They're phenominal.

I don't think they are ugly at all !

They are the greatest ! Get the Costco ones, much cheaper and fantastic.

Speaking for myself I do not like them. My almost 18 yr old DD doesn't like them either.

I still wear my Frye boots (they are 30 years old and have been resoled a few times) and my DD borrows them all the time. I am thinking about getting her own pair and leaving mine alone.

Go for it! They really are worth it and keep your feet sooo warm. I never wear socks in mine even in the coldest of Chicago cold days! However, as some mentioned above, even with waterproofing the regular sheepskin ones, they are not designed for wet snow/slush/rain on a regular basis. I do have a pair of UGG all-weather boots that are a waterproof leather and super cute but with the same warm fluffy insides and the are a lifesaver on those hideous gray slushy mushy wet Chicago winter days! They have so many styles now other than the Classic style that look more like boots and less like slippers and are a good mix of stylish and warm.

I'm on my fourth winter in a pair of Uggs moccasins, I adore them! So comfy and warm!

Not a fan of Uggs here, but wear them anyway. They are so comfortable. I do really like a lot of Ugg boots that arent the smurf prototype as well. I say, go for it! Who cares what you look like, as long as you're comfortable! :D
